AIBU to think people are being unreasonable to complain about dirty cars, dog hair in our car?

DH has a a work mate he gave a ride a few times. We have dogs, we regularly vacuum the car but sometimes there is dog hair in the car. Yesterday dh complained he had to vacuum the car again because he was giving him a ride today. The car was not really dirty inside, just a few dog hairs. I had vacuumed it just two days before.
I thought it was over the top because, we have four children, dogs and one cannot expect everything to be immaculate. How do you think?
AIBU to think other people are BU to expect this?

How often do you go to the car wash?

Haha Greypaw you sound like my step-daughter - i swear there are things growing in her car but she doesn't care, and why should she when she's a hard-working mum with 2 kids (one of them bloody messy) and a slobbery dog! Her OH gets fed up every now and then and has a mass tidy-up, but it's back to normal within days.

To answer the OP, why not put blankets down for the dog? It will pick up much of the hair and make life easier. Your DH sounds like he is having issues with your overall cleanliness, though, so something to talk about before it drives a wedge.

So my question for all the other civvies out there: How often do you clean your car, how often do you use the car wash?

At least once a week inside and out. More in the summer for shows/meets. Wouldn’t dream of using any form of car wash, I prefer my paint to be free of swirls.

I walk my dog every day with a car ride and honestly don't care about his hair everywhere, my mil brings plastic bags and sits on them every time they come in my car becuase she doesnt want dog hair on them! If you are doing this man a favour with lifts you shouldn't have to change your car for him! I do find it rude when people comment on my car, if it was my hubby fair enough but when you give someone a lift you expect them to suck it up! I was in my sisters car the other day and had to move a load of rotten food my niece has been stock piling but didn't say a word! I didn't want to sit on it so I got rid!

Thanks for your advice. My conclusion: Yes, dh is being unreasonable when he pays attention to what people think about our car.
Next time I‘ll force him to eat with us.
