To ask if you've seen this jumper I ruined?!

I accidentally ruined my favourite jumper and I'm unreasonably upset about it (it was a treasured gift). It's beyond repair. :(

It was purchased from TK Maxx in November 2017, but I can't find them anymore.

There's one on eBay but it's a large and mine was a small! I've attached a pic from before it got ruined.

If you've got one you're willing to sell or have seen one available anywhere, I would be so very grateful!!

Email TK Maxx they will be able to check 👍🏻

Jimbalaya · 28/01/2018 18:01

There's a new one on eBay in Large if that's any use.

Jimbalaya · 28/01/2018 18:02

Oops missed your prev comment. Ignore me!

ThisLittleKitty · 28/01/2018 18:04

I would suggest to just keep checking eBay. These things will always pop up again. May take a while though.

Going to do some searching - will be back if I find anything useful.

ThePinkOcelot · 28/01/2018 18:10

Ahhhh, how have you ruined it?

reservoircats · 28/01/2018 18:11

So cute !!!! I am sorry you ruined it

jumperinvestigator · 28/01/2018 18:16

Have emailed TK Maxx and Pringle, hopefully one of them will reply! I will set up an eBay alert too.

Have you shrunk it? You can try soaking it in fabric softener and stretching it .. then pull it as it dries .. then take it to get it dry cleaned and explain what you have done . They can give it a tug when they are steaming it too.

jumperinvestigator · 28/01/2018 18:18

I accidentally put it in my machine wash basket (it's hand wash only) and it has shrunk irreparably - I've tried all the tricks online but no luck, the texture of the merino wool is ruined even if it did get restored to size. I'm gutted! :(

If you’ve shrunk it you can stretch it back using hair conditioner. Or buy the large one and shrink that with a hot wash and put it in the tumble dryer.

MsJudgemental · 28/01/2018 18:21

Sorry, cross-post!

southboundagain · 28/01/2018 18:36

If you're really attached to it, could you buy the large and alter it/get it altered to your size? I did this with a skirt once (bought it in size 16 and altered it to fit size 8). It's more risky given the item's price, though; my skirt was cheap so it wouldn't have mattered as much if this plan had failed.

gnatgnu · 28/01/2018 18:43

There is a Pringle outlet in Hackney - their number is +44 (0) 208 533 1158 - might be worth a try...

drspouse · 28/01/2018 19:41

If it would help, you can make ruined jumpers into bags or cushions.

CleanHonestGoals · 29/01/2018 06:49

sportyfool · 29/01/2018 17:51

@jumperinvestigator have you seen this ?

jumperinvestigator · 29/01/2018 18:18

Sorry - have been at work and visiting my closest TK Maxx (I am in London)! Sadly they did not have it anymore. I also emailed them and Pringle, but also no luck there. :(

I might have to go further afield in the London TK Maxx hunt at the weekend...

Ring the store first, when I saw this last night I knew we had some Pringle jumpers in clearance even though I'd not noticed that one before. So checked when I got in. So they will likely have a good idea.

TroelsLovesSquinkies · 29/01/2018 18:50

Ring the Pringles in Anglesey see if they have one left, I bet they'd post it, they ship stuff for holidaymakers. 01248 717171
