Or is it an over ripe pear?
I do love Lidl and their randomness. Also not sure about the wooden coaster that it is nestling upon.
AIBU about the miss-selling of fruit/vegetables used as lamps?

”I know because I licked it”

NoraButty Grin

And which of us can say we wouldn’t do the same?!

directsunlight · 25/01/2018 21:01

My friend licked hers. Definitely salty. Of I got one my ds wouldn't stop licking it.

Pearlsaringer · 25/01/2018 21:02

New one on me too, snooks. Not sure where I would put one. Also do they dissolve in damp atmospheres?

iklboo · 25/01/2018 21:03

They're clearly ripping off my Frankensquash from a couple of Halloweens ago.

Grin in love with that little kitty cat hugging the salt lamp !

Mumsnut · 25/01/2018 21:06

It's a bit ... testicular

Mumsnut · 25/01/2018 21:07

Give it another lick, just in case ...

Goodasgoldilox · 25/01/2018 21:07

Would our dogs just lick it away?
(They know the rules about human food - but have never been banned from lamp -licking. It might be too late to introduce new rules.)

Ginorchoc · 25/01/2018 21:09

They are toxic to pets !

Snooks1971 · 25/01/2018 21:11

stamps foot because thread has derailed into salt lamp discussion and hardly any posters sharing my shock of large lit up butternut squash on bedside table

Is it like the salt lick thing that cows lick (just carved with a light bulb inside?) Grin

I love my salt lamp. Might be something in it re health benefits. Me and DS haven't had any colds this year total coincidence.
I bought mine from a Wiccan lady she does spells and all sorts. She has fibromyalgia but claimed the salt lamps helped.

They are toxic to pets !

Only if they lick them.

I might have to go and get another one from Lidl. What other fruit and veg shapes do they stock? OP

polaricecaps · 25/01/2018 21:22

Are all salt lamps vegetable shaped?

A shop near me sells a dolphin-shaped one...

I have nothing useful to add to this discussion!

viques · 25/01/2018 21:29

Thank god for MN. Just imagine going to a dinner party and not being able to contribute to a discussion about salt lamps. That would have been me a few minutes ago, but now, thanks to MN and Google I can contribute to the salt craic.positive and negative Ions, fruit and veg, dog toxicity, taste, lidl.......

That really made me laugh OP! Salt lamps are lovely, they make the room so warm and cosy. They're meant to produce negative ions, help with sleep and mood.

Snooks1971 · 25/01/2018 21:40

I'm humbled, I asked a puerile question thinking I was being smart ass funny but there is a whole new world out there.
I doff my cap (again) to Lidl's inner aisle. They are right on the button!
draws the line at dolphin lamps sorry polaricaps

MonkeysMummy17 · 25/01/2018 21:42

I started off giggling at this thread, and now considering finding a Lidl and buying a salt lamp Grin thanks OP!

Snooks1971 · 25/01/2018 21:42

I'm going to Lidl tomorrow night after work and I'm bloody buying one!! You have turned me!
I'm also buying the waffle maker for £9.99, ds2 loves a waffle

I 'm going too. It is hilarious I am going to buy my friend one and put it away for her birthday. When we had the kids at home and not much money at Christmas because of the kids we used to set an amount and buy each other a Christmas present think £1:50 and you had to try and beat the other one with the naffiest present. Now that is quite expensive for our game but I can't resist. I will wrap it in beautiful paper and watch her cringe! Ha ha! It is definitely a butternut squash and she loves them! How can I sit on that secret till August.😁

BerylStreep · 25/01/2018 21:56

Oh, I want one!

We already have the lidl waffle maker. It's great.

Snooks1971 · 25/01/2018 21:57

bowerbird I would be giddy and too excited to wait til August!

I was gifted a salt candle holder thingy..not knowing what I was supposed to do with it I put it in my Bathroom on top of the cabinet. It sucked the life out of the paint then moved onto the plaster 😱....dripped all down the cabinet and caused blistering (all without a candle) ...moved the 'thing' into my bedroom. It's causing havoc!

mrspitt · 25/01/2018 22:08

And yes! It's butternut squash kind of shaped!!
