Me and DH both dont use socil media i havent had a facebook page for years and dont use any other sites.we have asked family and friends to not post pictures of our new baby some have been really understanding but some are upset with us we have asked nicely and explained why we dont want pictures but they are still posting them after my baby shower one put unflattering pictures of me i didnt know they had taken and i had asked nicely not to share them as we dont want to actively be on facebook. Why is it such taboo not to like facebook

I think you can go straight to facebook and get them taken down. They'll soon learn.

Yanbu!

I've reduced my facebook presence recently as friends have had photos 'stolen' and appeared in other people's blogs or pages. I'd hate to see mine there.

Humv · 24/01/2018 20:22

Definitely not BU. My DH and I are the same, not fans of social media and don’t want anyone putting pictures of our DS up. Anyone who we want to see pictures of him we can give directly to. Don’t back down!

Keep insisting they take them down. I use Facebook but I totally understand why people don't and I would never share photos of other people's kids - not even my nieces and nephews.

Maybe suggest a family WhatsApp group as a more private way of sharing photos with each other?

If they persist in sharing them stop sending them photos of the baby altogether.

YANBU. We've asked family members to remove photos of our DD from facebook.
