If you wear a short skirt then you should expect eyes to be drawn to you...

I don’t mean that if you wear a short skirt or tight top that it’s ok for men to gawp at, catcall, stare at or intimidate you... it absolutely isn’t, but isn’t it natural that if you wear something that visually accentuates your assets, that you should expect men (and women)’s vision to be drawn towards them? Or should men (and women) always resist the temptation, and not let their eyes stray even for a moment?

You can look - everybody will look, but a glance not a lingering, judgement call type look.

If I see a man in a nice suit I would look, if I see a granny in a nicely matched outfit I would look, if I see a teen in a short skirt I would look, if I saw a person shopping in pyjamas I would look... but you look, then move on.

Youngmystery · 24/01/2018 14:01

I kind of thought that was the point of revealing clothes. If I want my boyfriend to stare at my legs/boobs, I'll wear something that attracts attention to them.

EggsonHeads · 24/01/2018 14:03

Well most people look pretty bad in short skirts. I think that it's more about looking out of place. In a club you wouldn't even have the chance to look at every woman in a short skirt if you wanted to but on the street or in the office or something a short skirted woman is an anomaly so fairly eye catching for the wtf is she wearing factor.

QuiteLikely5 · 24/01/2018 14:04

An admiring glance is fine!

ArmySal · 24/01/2018 14:05

How can you not look? If someone's boobs/arse/balls are practically hanging out I'd give them a glance over, yes.

WhoWants2Know · 24/01/2018 14:05

I don't think I'd notice a short skirt, tbh. Bright or unusual clothes would be more likely to catch my eye.

coconuttella · 24/01/2018 14:05

When does an admiring glance become a stare? 1/2 second, 1 second...

Assets? ?Do you mean legs?
My legs are just a part of my body. I use them to walk. Most people have them. If I wear a short skirt yes people might look at my legs as they are right there.
Whats your point?

coconuttella · 24/01/2018 14:06

If I want my boyfriend to stare at my legs/boobs, I'll wear something that attracts attention to them.

And other people looking at them?

OP posts:
RadioGaGoo · 24/01/2018 14:07

Thinkimg about it, I don't tend to look at men's legs in shorts.

Idontdowindows · 24/01/2018 14:07

We all know there is a massive difference between a normal look and staring or ogling.

These questions are so facetious, because the ONLY reason they are posted is so that the OP can, at some point, go "GOTCHA!".

AngelsSins · 24/01/2018 14:08

Fine to look, perfectly natural.

Not ok to stare like you don't have a brain in your head, make comments or touch.

IHaveBrilloHair · 24/01/2018 14:08

I love wearing short skirts, I have great legs and I expect to be noticed, I don't mind, in fact I like it.
I would mind being cat called or leered at, that over steps the mark.

RadioGaGoo · 24/01/2018 14:08

Yeah, after the last comment, I'm not sure where the OP is going with this.

TheImprobableGirl · 24/01/2018 14:08

If I wanted my husband to look at my legs/boobs, I would stand stark bollock naked in front of him, however I think I would do this in the comfort of our own home, probably not on the school run.

bummypicklemummy · 24/01/2018 14:08

The last comment..... gf gf gf

coconuttella · 24/01/2018 14:09

Most people have them. If I wear a short skirt yes people might look at my legs as they are right there.

The point being that if you wore a tight, short skirt, people will be more drawn to that than if you wore a baggy trousers...

I have only ever worn a revealing item of clothing if I wanted to attract attention to those areas.
Like I have bardot tops because I have great shoulders and I want to show them off.
legs not so much so I keep them covered.
However when I'm on holiday I wear more revealing clothes because it's hot but even then I nothing that is too tight or short, usually flowy light materials.
I agree with you though that you should expect a look when wearing a short skirt but not for someone to leer at you that's never ok

AngelsSins · 24/01/2018 14:10

Do men have "assets" by the way? Has anyone ever seen a man described as "flaunting his assets"? Just curious....

Youngmystery · 24/01/2018 14:10

And other people looking at them?

That wouldnt bother me, I'd be wearing it for his sake, no one else's.

Before him, I would do the same kind of thing when going out with friends, put something on that highlights the best part of my body (in my care my boobs). If I want to show them off I will. I wouldnt wear a short skirt though as my legs are massive and would look awful haha. If they were slimmer i would.

HoneyDragon · 24/01/2018 14:11

People look at me loads when I’m out. Because I wear a Tigger hat.

I shall henceforth slap the smiling perverts.

coconuttella · 24/01/2018 14:12

Do men have "assets" by the way?

Of course they do... bum, chest, arms etc. Many men will wear stuff which shows them off.

TheImprobableGirl · 24/01/2018 14:12

I didn't notice the Tigger hat honeydragon
Too busy ogling your arse

WaggyMama · 24/01/2018 14:12

It's natural to look at anyone who is attractive, or is well dressed, confident or beautiful.
