After chatting about Scotland this morning I've been fancying some Tunnocks tea cakes. Managed to get some at lunch time for a treat.

However they've only gone and fucking added palm oil. I'm sure they never used to do this.

Is there no chocolate product that hasn't been ruined?

Aibu to think palm oil products should have a warning?

That's disappointing, they made a big deal about using cocoa butter.

Could chocolate makers be using a lower grade of cocoa also?

It was all over for me when they ruined Terry's Chocolate Orange

Victorian cough medicine used to have actual Cocaine and Morphine in, and I bet when they were taken out, there were people talking about "the good old days when it really worked."

I think we will be those people, telling the young folks about when we were young and chocolate was cheap and wonderful as they eat their palm-oil-tasting tiny brown gritty bars of "chocolate" with big wondering eyes.

I think nice tasting chocolate has become a luxury now where it’s better just to buy better quality but less often. I had some of those Godiva chocolates given to me at Christmas, admittedly I didn’t check the ingredients but they were lovely and actually melted in the mouth rather than shrinking to gritty lumps like most chocolate does. They are pricey though, Sainsbury’s has them security tagged. Cheap chocolate is not the same thing at all.
