I work in media/pr type business, just found out that at a recent event that I was not present at my boss was apparently trying to woo a new client and told this guy that he would arrange for me to go for a meal with him and do ‘whatever was required to seal the deal.’ Apparently this was after a few drinks and all said in jest but aibu to still be shocked by this? I’m quite new to the company and came from a very different industry so don’t know if i’m being oversensitive about this or not
The client is someone he has worked with before and knows quite well but I have only met him a couple of times.
Boss hasn’t mentioned it another colleague who was at the event told me about it but my boss is also his boss and there’s no way I can bring it up without putting him in an awkward position as being the one who told me.
