To be a bit freaked out by this banana ....

.... was just about to peel it, and then saw this weird cocoon thing growing on it.

Wider family all here, and opinions vary as to what it is ....

Lots of baby spiders? (100s)
Just one big spider?
Something else?

And what should we do? Dad (who lived for a year in Africa) thinks they will very likely be poisonous, and microwave or boiling water?

the pic by IHaveACuntingPlan very clearly shows little spiders around the fluffy bit.
Take the banana to the bath, have a bottle of bleach ready and open it;)

I really try and force myself to eat a banana every now and then because they are so good for you, blah, blah, blah, but I just don't like the texture.
Perfect excuse never to eat one again! Confused

Sorry this photo is a bit yucky, but you can see the boiled banana in the bottom of the picture, and the cocoon just above it - now floating separately in the boiled pan of water.

To be a bit freaked out by this banana ....
