What a nice promotion to do that keeps the gender pay gap in people's minds and trys to give a tiny bit of equality.

I just wish they were in the UK and could support them.

Without sounding goady, a percentage of patrons will be paying with their huband's money. Am I missing something beyond a PR stunt?

TrinitySquirrel · 21/01/2018 19:21

Husbands*

iskegness · 21/01/2018 19:50

What exactly do you mean a husbands money? Money earnt as a couple belongs to both equally

Sounds a bit gimmicky. Like ladies hour or something, get lots of women in the bar and men will follow maybe? Plus it's a Canadian thing so they are a bit batshit liberal for the sake of it

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 21/01/2018 19:56

Is that not illegal in Canada?

c3pu · 21/01/2018 20:03

Fantastic, I'll start patronising this establishment with all my mates and get my missus to buy all the drinks. Job's a goodun.

whoareyou123 · 21/01/2018 20:47

c3pu nice idea except it's only on food orders (on a Monday).

Seems like it's a total publicity stunt to me.

OfaFrenchmind2 · 21/01/2018 20:52

Yup, publicity stunt. A nice, very cynical one...

AlonsosLeftPinky · 21/01/2018 20:52

Sounds patronising as fuck! I don't earn less than my male counterparts.

iskegness · 21/01/2018 20:54

Of course it's a bit of a stunt, but it raises awareness of the gender pay gap.

OP posts:
TrinitySquirrel · 21/01/2018 20:56

I mean that it will be his wages because a percentage of women who take up the offer will be housewives or kept womem (not including sahm in that)

UpstartCrow · 21/01/2018 20:59

How awful for men if their wives have escaped to blow their hard earned wages on alcohol in a public house.

Lethaldrizzle · 21/01/2018 21:01

His wages are her wages if you are a sahm

lackingimagination · 21/01/2018 21:04

Publicity stunt or not it will be raising awareness and keeping the topic hot so it's bloody brilliant for all women including all of you moaning about it.

Alonsos if it weren't for awareness, knowlede and tireless campaigns you certainly wouldn't be earning the same as your male counterparts, you do realise that right?

lackingimagination · 21/01/2018 21:04

Knowledge*

kalapattar · 21/01/2018 21:08

I wonder if BME people should pay less as well?

There's a bigger pay gap there as well.

Or disabled people?

Falmer · 21/01/2018 21:22

Yes, I'm disabled. I want a booze discount too!! Seriously though OP, I think it's a good thing, publicity stunt or not.
