AIBU to be terrified of taking emergency contraception?

Will begin by saying I’m emetophobic. Anyway, just dtd with DH and afterwards realised the condom got a hole in it! We absolutely do not want another child. I know I need to get to a pharmacy ASAP but I’m frightened of taking a morning after pill in case it makes me sick!! Rationally I know it is the only sensible thing to do - having a 4th child is not an option! What are the chances of not needing to? Am on day 21 of a 25 day cycle.

I wouldn’t take the risk.
I think it’s probably very unlikely you would be since- I’ve taken it 3 times and never had any side effects

You can ask the doc or pharmacist for anti sickness tablets.

GYMBALL · 20/01/2018 18:45

I'd rather risk being sick once from taking it than potentially weeks of morning sickness

If you become pregnant you might well have a lot more sickness to contend with. I would take the EC if I were in your shoes.

DeStijl · 20/01/2018 18:46

Are you not worried pregnancy will make you sick?

mumtomaxwell · 20/01/2018 18:55

Two pregnancies, no sickness! And first one was twins so i don’t equate pregnancy with sickness. I realise this is unusual.
I shall toughen up and get myself to the pharmacy!

If you go now you can take it right before bed and therefore sleep through the worst of any side effects x

Not levonelle if possible! I am pregnant after taking that one, ellaone is apparently much more effective.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 20/01/2018 19:01

I've taking the MAP (levonelle) twice and it's not even made me nauseous. Is it worth the risk?
