Is to make someone look better? Why then have they given this model some sort of gigantic fading arm ?

Its an optical illusion caused by the models arm being similar in colour to the background.

Is it a mobile/laptop thing maybe? I'm on a laptop and there are no giant mutant arms.

It just looks like a normal arm that's squashed against the body.

About as enormous as something that's not really enormous at all.

Her arm;s nowhere near the colour of the background ...still looks normal to me!

Colour and contrast can depend on the gadget you are using, and your perception. Its like the 'is it blue or gold' dress that went viral. Or pareidolia. You can choose to see it if you try.
