Hi! Help, urgent advice needed! My 17 year old daughter and I are both 5ft nothing and a friend would like to sell us his well maintained, serviced and Mot'd 16 year old Ford Fiesta Fun (Mark 4)! BUT...as we are so short (and some cars are just not right no matter how you adjust the seat etc) I would love to know if anyone petite has any first hand experience of this model.

Particularly important as daughter will be learning to drive in it and needs to see safely and be comfortable.

He lives 160 miles away, so I want to be sure before making the trip that it's right. I'd be so grateful if anyone can help?!

Bumppppp
I drive a mk4 golf and the seat is well pumped up. 5"3 on a tall day 😋

As it's your friends, why don't you go round and see it before you buy it? Sit in it, test drive if your current insurance allows or drive it round an empty carpark .

Nikkylou, you will see in my last paragraph that he lives 160 miles away, so a 320 mile round trip!!!!!!!! Hence why I posted on Mumsnet. Obviously if he were closer I would have tried it out.

Hi
I'm 5'1 and used to have the fiesta mk4 (P reg), in terms of height I never noticed it being an issue. I loved her so much, I've recently bought another fiesta. Only problem with fiestas (and Ka) that age is rust. Hope that helps

Great little car the mk4. Can't help with the height question as I am 6ft (but I do have to have the seat all the way back!!)

MCNamechanger · 20/01/2018 10:22

Check the model, low spec ones don’t always have height adjusters and that’s the key here.

Could you find one for sale locally? Maybe one of those huge places where they have all the cars unlocked on forecourt so you can try sitting positions? Then you'll have a better idea if it will work for you before buying from friend

THANK YOU everyone and Ferocious...that's really helpful to know!
