I am neither pro or anti royals.

But £180.00 for a buzz cut (William). My DP buzzes his own head every fortnight in the garden for free.

As I understand it (prepared to be told that I'm wrong about this) but don't they get some kind of state handouts? Is this a reasonable use of our money?

I know they have to live in horrible old houses that probably cost a fortune to heat and maintain and I shudder to think about the council tax, but £180.00 for a buzz????

NHS? Schools? Social care? Roads? Potholes? Police? National security? Investment in environmental products - replacing plastics etc? Charities? Legal aid for those disenfranchised? Social justice campaigns ........ Sorry ....... You get the idea.

Change the way you view how life works.

The profit from the Duchy if Cornwall supports Kate and William so the more cute little biscuits you buy the more money there us to support them. Also William had a few million from his mother's will so don't worry the country isn't being deprived of valuable funds due to his haircut.

I spent £15 on 2 toys, to bribe my 4yo Into the barbers chair. Barber did an amazing job, charged £7.50, I told them to keep the change from a tenner. £25 pounds for a boys (very short) cut. What a mug.

I imagine I'll be spending £180 on boys haircuts in no time.

Perhaps the idea is that the celebrity hairdressers charge more for being discreet? Obviously not worked in this instance though

The boys are both wealthy in their own right, Diana's estate would have been divided between the two of them, if he wants to spend £180 of his own money on a hair cut thats his business. Contrary to what republicans seem to believe every thing the Royals spend does not come out of the public purse. The money they receive from the civic list is to maintain the properties and expenses for public events everyone seems to think this is their salary - its not.

The Civil List was abolished around 2013 I think.

I suppose the £180 was for someone sufficiently discrete and professional to visit him personally at a venue of his choosing, plus possibly a tidy up of ear and neck hair, although when I saw it on the news this morning, I thought, 'did he have a back, sack and crack wax as well for that price'.

Wills looks far more modern for it.

However, if he’d asked me to quote him first, he would have found that it can be done for an economical £178.99.

And yes I do now realise I used the wrong discrete/discreet.
