Turpin horror house keeping me awake at night

I should have listened to my mum - apparently when pregnant you should keep away from bad news, scary movies, sad people etc

Since the story broke out, it is on my mind all the time. 13 beautiful children - how lucky are these parents! Just why treat them like this? I'm heart broken for these children.

There is nothing I can do. I am so angry, so sad, so helpless...

Does anyone understand why the parents did this?

The old neighbour from (I think) Fort Worth used to play with them as children 15ish years ago. She said they weren’t allowed to tell their names and she was never allowed further than the kitchen in their house. That there were no dishes or food in the kitchen and that they moved into a mobile home in the garden because the house was so full of rubbish and faeces. She played with them for a few months then one day she’s called and was told they weren’t allowed to play with her anymore.

I would imagine that there is a lot worse to emerge. Horrific Sad

LemonShark · 19/01/2018 18:29

FurCoatFurKnickers They had a joint Facebook page but she also had a sole one in her maiden name (Louise robinette) so it's possible the sister meant she wasn't accepted as a friend on her solo page... however that is misleading whichever way you slice it. I don't buy the sister as a credible source at all, too many holes already that don't jive with what was apparent on Facebook.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 18:34

Did someone post here or on another thread that the sister has had her 7 children removed from her care?

Pineau · 19/01/2018 19:12

Her profile picture on her page shows her very slim with a very flat stomach, painted nails.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 19:20

Yes she is very thin here! Make up, jewellery, fake nails, clean clothes.

Some families do seem more prone to one sex or the other
I hope that's the case here and not that there were other boys that didn't make it Sad

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 19:39

Oh I hadn’t even thought of that Sad

Just had a flick through the DM's interview with the (very vocal) aunt who, by the way, sounds as mad as a box of snakes.

The photos of Louise as a child, so sad. The father looks like a beast and the kids look so fearful. Hardly surprising she went on to create her own awful family set up. It's as inevitable as it is sad for abused children to seek out abusive relationships as adults unless they have had a lot of professional help. Nothing like the comfort of familiarity.

As for the aunt saying her sister is dead to her, what a bitch. I'd like to think that I'd offer my siblings support if they were facing life in prison. Not condoning what they did but jeez, you don't abandon someone in their hour of need.

I really hope the kids don't end up living with this toxic aunt. His traumatised they must be.

You have to wonder how they could ever flourish. They almost need to stay together in a family home run by nurses. Poor damaged souls.

Where is pictures of the mum as a child

CheeseyToast · 19/01/2018 20:27

Are you a wind up? Hmm

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 20:30

Is this their house? It looks pretty clean. Also rows and rows or neatly stacked dvds and board games found in it too. Odd. Doesn’t sound like the previous homes were described.

Even if your sister neglected, abused and starved(and god knows what else) 13 children?

BazilGin · 19/01/2018 20:48

Not sure if this was posted before, but the hospital has set up a fund for them.

MoonfaceAndSilky · 19/01/2018 21:01

Erm, if my sister had abused my nieces and nephews and kept them chained up, yes she would be dead to me, in fact I'd probably kill her myself Angry

brizzledrizzle · 19/01/2018 21:06

It's not the Aunt that is the bitch in this awful situation.

CheeseyToast · 19/01/2018 21:43

Yes even if my sister was accused of terrible things, I'd visit her in prison.
This sister actually has no better idea of what went on in the house than we do but she's milking her 10mins in the limelight with highly paid interviews. I can't imagine anything more traumatic for the children at this point.
All they know of family is abuse and bad mouthing.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 21:44

There’s something seriously wrong with you.

CheeseyToast · 19/01/2018 21:46

brizzle i maintain that the sister is a bitch. The mother? Unsure. From what I can see, and from what I gleaned through years as a court reporter, I suspect a childhood of abuse and serious mental illness. These cases never come out of the blue, they are inevitably the result of years of illness/and or abuse.

CheeseyToast · 19/01/2018 21:47

Sure Donny whatever helps you feel good 👍

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 19/01/2018 21:57

Right so a woman who cuts contact with her sister who starved and and tortured 12 children is a bitch but the woman who actually starved and tortured 12 kids isn’t because she had a bad childhood (the same childhood her sister who didn’t abuse any kids had)

Yeah, like I said before.

WaxOnFeckOff · 19/01/2018 21:58

I'm sorry Cheesey, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion and yes, you don't know what went on behind those doors, but you in a minority here and there is no way I'd be so quick to visit a sibling of mine in the circumstances as we know them and her sister probably knows a hell of a lot more than we do.

She knew well enough to keep herself, the baby and the dogs clean and well fed. She knew that when they put on a show of going to vegas and disney that the kids needed to look clean and have clean clothes. As of course did he.

Saysomethingnice · 19/01/2018 22:09

Where is the the evidence the mum was herself abused? I had a quick look and couldn't see anything about her
