Skarossinkplunger · 19/01/2018 15:20

Tons, all professionally. Some are great, some are arses. Just like normal people.

Chipshopninja · 19/01/2018 15:21

Saw jess ennis Walking her dog a few times. She nodded and smiled. Seemed nice enough

Nettletheelf · 19/01/2018 15:29

We want to know about the ARSES.

The exam question was, which celebrities have you met who were TWATS?

These threads always turn into, I met X and he was utterly charming and gave me a hug etc etc., I have met lots of famous people and they were wonderful, blah blah.

Of course they were bloody charming. You probably met them in an environment when it was in their interest to be charming to the public. See how charming they are when they don’t want to wait to be served at a bar, or they want to jump the taxi queue, or when they are tired, etc.

To reiterate: WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CELEBRITY WANKERS.

Usually we get at least ten “I met Joanna Lumley at a charity event for Gurkhas and she was delightful”, but I have no crosses on my bingo card this time.

Littlejayx · 19/01/2018 15:33

Robbie Williams just doesn’t blink! I’ve met him twice and he had six coffees in a hour. Nice though!

Skarossinkplunger · 19/01/2018 15:40

See I met Eric Pollard and he was absolutely lovely.

Liam Gallagher during the 90’s - ARSE!

Frank Skinner at the height of his drinking - ARSE!

Gwen Stefani - Absolutely Lovely

All the Spice Girls - Lovely

Skarossinkplunger · 19/01/2018 15:41

Then again I met Kevin Spacey once and thought he was an absolute gent. Maybe I’m a bad judge of character.

ankasi · 19/01/2018 15:43

A few, although I would never recognise a soap actor or most people of the television

Danny Boyle - Very nice and very, very patient with us volunteers during the preparations for the 2012 Opening Ceremony
Davina McCall at an event in Birmingham - Very nice and very professional
Paloma Faith, same event as above - very DYKWIA, so were her background singers
Sir David Attenborough, while he was walking his dog - Didn't recognise him, but thought he had a lovely dog, he was very nice and it only dawned on me who he was hours later
Nick Knowles - didn't quite know what to make of him, seemed nice enough to me and a few others, while being a bit of an idiot to others
Sally Phillips at a flashmob for a documentary - very nice

Skarossinkplunger · 19/01/2018 15:45

Oooh! Tony Robinson - ARSE! (I was gutted)

LifeofClimb · 19/01/2018 15:49

Very z list, but Lemar (from pop idol or something like that?) was a bit grumpy and socially awkward, considering he was supposed to be mingling at a charity event! It was quite boring tbf, but he just shouldn't have bothered coming if he wasn't going to mingle or donate.

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2018 15:50

Vera Duckworth - the late Liz Dawn - she was vile.

DullAndOld · 19/01/2018 15:51

I was at school/holiday camp with a few people who went on to be micro-celebs.

One never stopped talking and used to write long long overly verbose letters to her friends and aquaintances....

One was obsessed with the television and lived in a house where it was literally never switched off. Her childhood ambition was to be on Blue Peter.

One had a dreadful blond mullet and would listen to Capital Radio on tape when he was out of the area.

Can you guess who they were? Grin

demirose87 · 19/01/2018 15:53

I served a member of Girls Aloud when I was 16 working in a bakers. Shouting her gob off just dying to be noticed and spoke to me like I was nothing while was serving her and bagging up her stuff.

DullAndOld · 19/01/2018 15:54

oh and one who (not really a micro celeb but VERY successful in his line of work)..who used to wear a knitted tanktop over his shirt and was rather good at piano.

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2018 16:04

DullAndOld no I can't, do tell.

Teddy1970 · 19/01/2018 16:05

spade there was no personality clash with Austin Healy...I just asked him if would like a drink from the on-board bar (as I do with everyone) and that's when he became wankerish, and not just with me either, he was being a jerk with other passengers too.

DullAndOld · 19/01/2018 16:08

would it be libel?

Beeinthecity · 19/01/2018 16:14

I don't know how much of it is having a bad day tbh.

I met Mark Owen and he was a twat. He was at a performance/signing type thing and bit five year old dds head off because the t-shirt she had brought for him to sign (she was obsessed with Take That at the time) was slightly damp. I'm not convinced he was sober tbh and in fairness I'd met him previously through work and he had been fine.

At a CD signing Jason Orange couldn't have been less interested about being there and was pretty rude to the point people complained and another band member commented. Again met him through work and he was lovely.

Robbie Williams, attended a VIP only party I was at FOR SOMEONE ELSE and had his own VIP room for him and a couple of mates and was awful. He left the building and the crowds were nuts, he got in the car and shut the door leaving his now wife to have to band on the door to get in to escape the crowds.

Howard Donald on the other end was and always has been a total and utterly star. Can't fault that bloke at all. He's a wind up merchant though...

YesitsJacqueline · 19/01/2018 16:17

I met Jodie Kidd in a lift at Pisa airport, she was totally in love with my then 8 week old baby boy. she was tall , beautiful and charming.

Beeinthecity · 19/01/2018 16:18

Sorry I meant to add that I met Robbie again through work on another occasion and he was a total gent so go figure.

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2018 16:19

there's nothing libellous in here

DullAndOld · 19/01/2018 16:21

OK.
Kathryn Flett
Alice Beer
Pat Sharp

I know I know, but I did say 'micro'..Grin

Shockers · 19/01/2018 16:22

DH won a part in a sporting event where Austin Healy, Darren Gough, Pat Cash and John Barnes were team captains. It wasn’t a televised thing, so no playing up to cameras, just having fun.
Austin Healy was ace with everyone and teased DS2 (8) about his Liverpool shirt mercilessly. I liked him. Darren Gough was nice, but not warm iyswim; Pat Cash was fab! John Barnes was late and flustered.

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2018 16:24

Oh. Not who I expected but I can see what you mean. Thanks.

caperberries · 19/01/2018 16:24

Miriam Stoppard - utter cow
Michael Palin - as above, lovely
