To want the landlord to change the fence panels

In the last year we've had some quite strong winds in which the fence panels in our private rented house have been damaged. The landlord tried to fix them last year but in the last month we've had strong winds again and the fence panels are now even more damaged, bowed & rotting. There's nails poking out of them which is a safety issue for the kids. We've sent the landlord pictures of the damage to the fence panels and he has told us that the fence panels are our responsibility to replace which I know for a fact is not true. That comes under maintenance which means it is up to him to replace them. We know that 2/3 fence panels probably won't make it through more high winds. We have told the landlord our worries about them causing damage to our neighbours conservatory but the landlord doesn't seem worried. Is there anything else we can do?

Ring your local council for advise. I would also tell the neighbours about your conversation with the landlord.
Read you tenancy agreement to make sure but I'm sure it's quite right that he should make good any problems. He should have landlord insurance
