Speaker Ryan won’t let a bill with a DACA fix come to the floor, which caused the #TrumpShutdown. My guess is that he’s worried the Freedom Caucus and @RepMarkMeadows are coming for his job.

There's a fair bit of illuminating opinion about Seth Abramson in this piece - of which I was ignorant.
Taking everything with a large pinch of salt, I may only rely on Renato Marriotti for legal explanations now...

North I still follow Seth Abramson (though not every tweet in his threads - they are crazy-long), and occasionally post something from him here. I think there has been a focused smear campaign on him (Mensch has it in for him, for one). He hasn’t always been right, yes, but there is no doubt he has put a great deal of work in to the cause. Throwing up doubts as to if he is a Professor or an Assistant Professor (and of what), and if he is a current lawyer, are nothing but attempts to undermine his credibility.

Twitter is full of Trumpites and bots under the #WomensMarch2018 hashtag. And the usual crop of hairy handed “get back in the kitchen bitches!” under-bridge dwellers. Makes reading the posts under that hashtag very tiresome, though I guess that’s the point.

Yes, I think Seth has been targetted.

The good thing about social media is that it makes it easier to look to multiple sources. Lawfare, for example, often shows differing legal opinions and interpretations.

I like to compare and contrast and then wait for the facts to emerge (Mueller, take care but do hurry).

I suspect that Mr M is cognisant of the need to get it right, first and foremost. All told, though, he's going much faster than I thought he might.

'By the book' is a strangely comforting phrase.

1. Can I ask everyone a favor? People are acting like the #TrumpShutdown is the result of incompetence, and blaming others for letting things come to this pass. Are they not seeing that this is deliberate? This whole year has been about breaking things down.
2. Just think about what they have broken down. Codes preventing corruption. Codes of respectful speech. Codes of treating women and minorities. Codes of speaking of foreign nations. Codes of all our traditional American values.
3. Codes of environmental protection. Codes of how we treat the sick and the elderly. Codes of how we speak of people with disabilities. Codes of how we deal with scientific research. Codes of how we separate truth from blatant lies.
