The TUI one. It's everywhere. The one that goes "Ain't nobody... loves me better... makes me happy.... yadda yadda..."

It's just so cringey! I mean, it's nice that it's so upbeat and happy, but did they have to make it so.... catchy? Obviously that's the whole idea, but for me it's just infuriating and making me want to use TUI less and less! The best bit is the dancing crabs Grin

AIBU to hate it and mute the TV whenever it comes on?

I hate the Park Christmas advert, particularly the cringey dance the mum and daughter do at the end. Doesn’t help it’s on every sodding advert break!!!! Angry

speakout · 14/01/2018 16:09

I like it.

It;s the Oral B ads that make me heave.

Lucisky · 14/01/2018 16:09

Loverofcake, I hate that toothpaste ad too! I just want to smack that woman's stupid gurning face. It's a shame because she is very pretty, but she is just overacting. And she's even smiling when she's brushing her bloody teeth. Aargh.

speakout · 14/01/2018 16:10

Haribo ads are the best.

A bit like " Creature Comforts" by Nick Park.

Bluntness100 · 14/01/2018 16:10

Omg, before I opened this I thought " whatever it is it can't be as bad as the Tui advert". It's the most annoying thing, I've never had an ad annoy me but have to leave the room when that woman starts singing or focus on something else.

I've never actually commented but my husband must have seen the disdain on my face, as it came on yesterday and he said " you hate this ad don't you".

There is something so annoying about it it would actually put me off using them.

Tweety2067 · 14/01/2018 16:13

I hate the one for Nationwide sang by those 2 women who did the "2016 song" that went viral. The song was funny but I could only ever watch it with subtitles. The voices along with smug expressions really grate.

I really want to smack two gormless females in ads - the one who points at the Oral B toothbrush and the thick one who says 'fat free' in the yoghurt ad. They both make my toes curl which is not a good sign.

I don't mind the Sofology ads with Owen Wilson but that's probably because he is yummy to look at Grin

dingdongdigeridoo · 14/01/2018 16:22

TUI is awful. For starters, it has been a whole year since La La Land, so it looks like a pathetic attempt by some advertisers failing to keep up with pop culture. I hate package holiday ads in general as they always show people having a team of staff running round after them, dining on secluded beaches with a table for two... in reality you're fighting for chips at the AI buffet, or drinking shit cocktails from a plastic cup by a crowded pool.

The smug BA holidays ad with the yacht. AAAAAGH. There's something about those arseholes with their fizzy orange that makes my teeth itch.

But the one that really gets me is the one with the talking kitchen. Why is the kitchen talking to them in that annoying mumsy tone? How can a kitchen have memories? I hope that baby didn't take a shit when they were bathing it in the sink.

TammySwanson · 14/01/2018 16:24

Me and DH have vowed never to use Tui because of the ad, and have actively told his father never to use them either (he was thinking of booking through them but is going with another company now) because this ad has driven us so crazy. Thing is, if it was just on a bit, like a normal ad, it would be annoying but you could cope with it but, as people have already said, it's literally on at least twice every ad break on Sky, and has been for MONTHS. I hate the lady, I hate her smug smile, the way she sways, the way she pouts at the end (in the one where she's swaying with all the staff behind her on the beach) I hate her weak-ass signing (don't care if it's a LaLa Land rip, if you are going up against Chaka Khan you better bring your best game), I just hate her (I'm sure she' perfectly nice and probably didn't realise the ad would be on so much, I wonder what she thinks of it now, I bet she regrets it).

I hate this too & I rarely get worked up at adverts. The original song is so strong and passionate and the reedy singing just destroys it.

juddyrockingcloggs · 14/01/2018 16:32

I used to work in Tui when it used to be Lunn Poly. They rolled out shop refits across the entire company and on the back of that we had a scent machine that we filled with coconut oil and each month we were sent a cd with different music on - think 'here comes the Sun' by George Harrison but at the beginning of all cds was the 'world of tui' song. OH GOOD GOD it was such a cringe fest!! It went like 'let's make people laugh, let's me people some, get people together in the world of tui'! We had to listen to that song over and over again, Day In day out!

Someone wise said ‘the road to hell will be paved with adverts’

Tweety2067 · 14/01/2018 16:44

Bit of a poor taste post there @tammyswanson ☹️

morningconstitutional2017 · 14/01/2018 16:51

Yes it is hateful and the woman trying to sing is not making a very good job of it. If you can't sing it better than Chaka don't even attempt it.

They dot every 'i' and cross every 't' do they? Not what some of their past customers would have said before they changed their name. Have they fooled us? No.

Hygge · 14/01/2018 16:52

DS hates the TUI advert for that very reason, the annoying woman ruining the song.

I hate it because TUI is a stupid name.

But the advert I hate the most is the incredibly surprised woman who "didn't even know they made a toothbrush!" I hate that woman, and I have a suggestion for what she can do with that toothbrush.

Tighnabruaich · 14/01/2018 16:55

About 15 years ago we went on a Thomson holiday to Puerto Pollensa in Mallorca. It was a perfectly nice hotel but the kids' club had a big mascot (man in a suit) called Thomson The Dog. And it seemed like every 15 minutes his jingle would be played poolside and he would come for a walkabout/meet 'n' greet. 15 years later I can still sing that jingle ...

witchofzog · 14/01/2018 16:58

Hygge Please wait behind me. I have been wanting to stick that toothbrush somewhere for a long long time. And the eyebrow raise she does at the same time. I feel the rage coming on now just thinking about it

maddiemookins16mum · 14/01/2018 17:01

Thomson has been TUI for years (it's their German parent company).
Lunn Poly, blimey that takes me back a few years!

rothbury · 14/01/2018 17:03

DIdn't Lunn Poly have an advert with a parrot? That bloody parrot was better than the current TUI ad Grin Had a better voice anyway......

Consideringbeingamom · 14/01/2018 17:07

I've always disliked most tv and radio ads, it's a repetition thing for me. Very wearing. They actually put me off the companies and their products! Yep the TUI girls seems very dopey and weak voiced. Dull as heck.

Consideringbeingamom · 14/01/2018 17:08

Girl, not plural!

hollygolipo · 14/01/2018 17:16

I hate with a passion the formula advert where the baby boys are learning to be mountain climbers and mathematicians and the girl is going to be ... a ballerina.

giveitfive · 14/01/2018 17:22

YANBU. There is something about that advert. Whole household gets pissed off every time it comes on!

Can't put my finger on what is so irritating though.
