Cancelling an item on eBay.

Prepared to get flamed for this! But would you consider cancelling an item you sold on eBay if an identical item sold one hour after it for double the price your one sold for?! And we are not talking a few pounds either!... Wibu?? (It's not been paid for yet if that makes a difference)

You win some and you lose some on Ebay. I had the slightly unpleasant experience of having an item reach just under £30 when that item usually goes for over £100. I sent the buyer the item. Never list anything with a starting price lower than you are prepared to sell for.

I really hope you're being truthful when you've said you won't cancel given that so many people said don't and you were still saying you would. Honestly it's the sellers that pull tricks like that who give eBay a bad rep. It would be completely greedy and unethical to relist, the fact that anything second hand attracts money is a bonus. Under contract law (and outlined by eBay policy) when a bid is accepted the buyer is contractually obliged to pay that price for the item and the seller is contractually obliged to send the item. By lying and saying an item was misplaced it would be immoral and clearly breaking eBay policy.

I'd do it, it's more money FFS.

ThisLittleKitty · 13/01/2018 21:54

I won't cancel it.

Always possible you will find her higher item relisted soon as she had a "friend" bid it up.....then cancel the sale

I've won a couple of items that didn't go beyond the 99p start bid, that then 'went missing in the post' - I think it's probable the sellers didn't want to let them go for that sum, but as I couldn't prove that, there was nothing I could do. It's annoying, because I would happily have bid a more realistic price had they put on a higher starting bid.
