Just had a recent referral to the breast clinic for a lump, was seen within 2 weeks. I had a mammogram (as 40- believe the start for that at out clinic is 40), then an ultrasound and examination. They found lots of harmless cysts. All done the same day and they really looked after me. Try not to worry (I know that's easy to say). By the time I got there I'd poked it so much it was sore!

Good luck.

As a rule of thumb mobile lumps are non cancerous and ones that are attached are cancerous so it's looking good for you

Please don't panic (I know easier said than done) it's scary but really chances of it being cancer are tiny at your age plus it really does sound like a cyst. I think cancerous tumours are more likely to be hard and not movable. When I was 20 I found a lump in my breast same as you described went to hospital and saw a doctor who examined me then was sent for an ultrasound. They could tell from ultrasound alone it was benign. It started getting a bit bigger so went to doctors again a few months later she said it was causing no harm and unless it was bothering me there was no need to remove it. Im now 28 with a baby it's still there but a lot smaller ( actually quite hard to find now) caused me no problems at all even with pregnancy hormones (was worried it may get larger). Sorry for long posts but I find detailed real life experiences can be reassuring in these situations.

I found a lump. I was absolutely sick with worry. I thought the GP would feel it and say a cyst or fatty lobule and send me home but not I got referred to the breast clinic for an ultrasound. That scan was the worst minute of my life. Most lumps turn out to be nothing. Mine was just fatty tissue lying and in a different way to the rest and so stood out. I think my GP referred me more for reassurance. You're doing the best thing and getting checked and the odds are you'll be fine!

It's a big relief to see you ladies have also been through this and it ended up being a cyst.. It's so reassuring to hear.. As I did assume the worst. Trying my best not to panic about it but it gets to me at times. I also had a baby 11weeks ago could it be due to this to maybe?

Anxiousally I was the exact same I was sure the doctor would send me home and think nothing of it just made me more scared when she said she could feel it too.. I honestly taught I had made a mistake didn't think I would be referred
