Now I'm not a fan of it but everyone is allowed to speak their views. Aibu to think banning the sale of any one news outlet goes against the principles of free speech?

The DM can (and does) print anything it likes. That's free speech. Doesn't mean that retailers have to stock it. That's freedom to run a business.

Utterly ridiculous op.

This is no more an attack on free speech than my decision not to telephone or visit my racist aunt-in-law is a denial of her free speech.

The daily mail, along with all other organisations and individuals who want to spew vileness, are free to say what they like so long as they stop short of advocating violence against the long list of people who they hate. The rest of us, including Virgin Trains, are free to ignore them and to choose not to publicise them.

Incidentally I doubt Virgin Trains distributes The Socialist Worker or The Pink Paper either and that's not an attack on free speech or a judgement on the content of those publications.

The daily mail just loves the word traitor if you winge even slightly about this country

I supect that the daily mail also believes that reading their paper is the true sign of a patriot Grin

Reading the DM is really not patriotic- after all they were pro Nazi through the 1930s and our grandfathers fought them through the Second World War - not patriotic supporting the other side
The DM don’t pay there taxes into the uk, avoiding where possible - not very patriotic to begrudge paying in for the people.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 11/01/2018 12:17

Yeah I didn't say they were right ivy Smile

Its just i bet they think that Grin

Coldilox · 11/01/2018 12:19

Surely alongside freedom of speech is freedom to choose which products your business is going to sell?

It’s there reading pool that are to blinkers and name call so often as their argument to defend their actions 😲
