As the title suggests... I keep seeing people post ridiculous stuff in here recently.
AIBU in thinking people are just too lazy to find the right place to post their questions?

Haha! It's always been the same.

But given MNHQ know that most people believe there are far too many topics and still do very little about it, I can't see it changing any time soon.

WorraLiberty · 08/01/2018 12:10

Sorry, what I meant was, it's not always laziness.

More a case of tumbleweed in the right topics, because there are far too many of them.

thecatsthecats · 08/01/2018 12:11

I have posted a question in Weddings, and bumped it today after about a week of no replies. Not sure if I can brave the predictable and volatile nature of AIBU, but I have to admit I'm tempted.

CassandraCross · 08/01/2018 12:15

AIBU is the busiest part of the site so people post there because they think they will get a quick response, as Worra said the 'correct' topics are as dead as a Norwegian Blue.

KC225 · 08/01/2018 12:17

I don't mind the odd light hearted one, breaks the MILs and My Ex's up

TW1984 · 08/01/2018 12:24

I kind of get that a lot of the threads are dead and people want some advice, but with respect, some people just seem to post stuff that you could quite easily ask Google (or Alexa etc) and it's just a bit silly.

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 08/01/2018 12:26

Quite a few people seem to claim not to know how to post in the other topics.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 08/01/2018 13:07

YANBU at all. All the posts like "AIBU to ask what your favourite colour is" or "AIBU to ask if wall paper is nice", should be in Chat (which is just as busy so there's no excuse not to post there) not AIBU. We have sections yet when people post in the wrong ones MNHQ don't care. Just get rid of all the sections then because there's clearly no point to them Hmm

Maybe I'm just fed up of MN now, what with all the thread deletions (why bother even getting involved in a forum where all the effort spentposting can go up in smoke for whatever reason...waste of fucking time!), and the shite posted in AIBU just really irritates me. Gah, maybe I've outgrown MNSad

CassandraCross · 08/01/2018 13:10

Is it really that much of an effort to post on a thread What?

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 08/01/2018 13:17

Yup. I always feel like posting the link to Let Me Google That For You in answer to their query. In fact, I think I'm going to have to start doing that Wink

FireCracker2 · 08/01/2018 13:22

More a case of tumbleweed in the right topics,

Of course it istumble weed because every bugger is posting in AIBU!

ilovesooty · 08/01/2018 13:28

And sometimes when people ask if they're BU they say they didn't ask what people thought Wink

BarbaraofSevillle · 08/01/2018 13:28

I know! Why? People do this all the time and I can't see the logic.

Asking for stuff like the number of the tax credits helpline or what size bag they can take on a plane, from an unspecified airline.

Why wouldn't you google to look on the official and correct information website, instead of asking on a chat forum where people can and do post all sorts of rubbish, which half the time isn't even questioned by other posters.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 08/01/2018 13:30

It can be when I've put a lot of thought into how I can best advise an OP who is asking for help. When I've searched for company links to help them. I find it difficult to construct sentences and to write stuff so it is an effort for me, yes. I don't mind too much but it pisses me off if the thread is then deleted.

Well in that case, try 'chat' - which really is a bit of a catch-all

When I am Queen of MN, I shall have frequent days when Things Are Moved To The Topics, and AIBU really is about unreasonableness.

Hear hear! I'd love that job Grin
