Need one for a frequent bed wetter and current ones impossible to dry.

OP posts:

I have these ones in single and cot bed sizes. Tumble dry just fine. I suggest having two and doing the protector-sheet-protector-sheet layering so you can just whip off the wet set and not have to make up the bed again in the middle of the night.

MrGrumpy01 · 05/01/2018 12:39

I had some by 'brolly sheets' that could be tumble dried. They are a drawsheet style with wings

Hullabaloo31 · 05/01/2018 12:41

Hippychick ones can. Same problem here!

Ataglance · 05/01/2018 12:41

I have an IKEA one that I tumble dry with no issues. www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/textiles-rugs/mattress-pillow-protectors/gökärt-mattress-protector-art-90281208/.

Phillipa12 · 05/01/2018 12:42

Ive always used the washable bed protector, they come in packs of 2 from Amazon

RavingRoo · 05/01/2018 12:47

I can only use the heavy plastic backed ones from Dunelm (heavy periods) and they can’t be tumble dried.

DontCallMeJohnBoy · 05/01/2018 12:49

We used the hippychick sheets with DS as a toddler. They were lovely and soft and could be tumbledried.

hendricksyousay · 05/01/2018 14:21

Surely just get 3 , one on , one off, one in the wash ? I have a thick material one that is a medical grade one that I wash and tumble dry .

Stoptherideiwannagetoff · 05/01/2018 16:45

If you Google Kylie mats the first one, think it's kanga, is good. They tumble for a couple of years before biting the dust...

glueandstick · 05/01/2018 21:27

The John Lewis quilted one can be tumble dried. Bloody hope so anyhow as it’s in there....

TinselatedTree · 05/01/2018 21:38

Ikea have some.

CorbynsBumFlannel · 05/01/2018 22:12

We used to use the Hippychick ones then got mattresses with a zip of topper and waterproof underneath when they were in big beds.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 05/01/2018 22:13

We use clevermamma ones. About £10 from Amazon.

LongWeek · 05/01/2018 22:18

hendrick that only works if it’s one wet bed a night.

Try 3/4 times a night (one child)

Wet sheet/mattress protector/ duvet/ duvet cover 3 times a night.

We use disposable bed mats (dry nites). There’s just too much washing. In the summer we use some washable ones.

(Love desmopressin) now only one wet bed a night.

SheepyFun · 05/01/2018 22:18

Another vote for hippy chick (though we don't actually have a tumble drier). However I can sleep on them without sweating, an issue I've had with cheaper mattress protectors.

We do have several - bear in mind that some people will be changing sheets several times a night (not us at the moment, thankfully) and they aren't cheap.

caffeine99 · 05/01/2018 22:21

I’ve been unsuccessful in my quest for a mattress Protector which actually prevents the matttess from getting wet. Corbyn and DontCallMe - could you tell me if the Hippychick protectors work please?

LannieDuck · 05/01/2018 22:21

The Ikea ones are brilliant.

Moreisnnogedag · 05/01/2018 22:25

Ikea ones are lovely and don't feel plasticky but keep it all dry underneath.

Spartaca · 05/01/2018 22:26

I buy incontinence pads from Amazon, about £12 for 2 and they're huge.

Itscurtainsforyou · 05/01/2018 22:28

We have 3-4 that we rotate and dry on the radiator/washing line depending on the time of year.

Sympathies OP, it's exhausting.

hiyasminitsme · 05/01/2018 22:29

Ours is from John Lewis and goes in the dryer

ASilhouetteAndNothingMore · 05/01/2018 22:30

Ikea ones here too. Tumble dried mine by mistake, they came out fine.
My DS only has occasional accidents, you wouldnt know there was a plastic sheet on his bed. The mattress has never been wet.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 05/01/2018 22:32

I'm pretty sure that the ones we had from M&S could be tumble dried.

They were fab. Not sweaty or rustly but did the job perfectly.

CorbynsBumFlannel · 05/01/2018 22:35

Yeah they work fine caffeine and nice and comfy as well - not rustly like the cheaper ones.

beyondthesky · 05/01/2018 22:36

I too would love to find some that were truly waterproof.

I have three protectors on my Ds's bed at all times under a sheet.

This is a mix of padded with waterproof back, medical grade towelling with plastic back and one that is completely plastic.

Whenever he wets I can almost guarantee two of them will be wet.
