To think if People dont know there's a Flu Survey then it won't get filled in

Flusurvey is an online survey that monitors trends of flu like illness in the community. Any member of the UK public can register onto the platform to report flu like symptoms they may experience during the winter months. This data will be used by researchers at Public Health England and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to monitor flu trends in the UK. (from the website)

Im a health professional and had no idea this survey existed and neither did my colleagues, have other people heard of it or completed it themselves?

YANBU. I have been filling it in each winter since the swine flu epidemic (when our neighbours, who were health professionals, accused us of putting them at risk because my son was ill with what might have been swine flu. They seemed to think the virus could travel through walls.)
But I only heard about Flu Survey because my sister sent me a link to it.
I find a certain satisfaction in filling in the survey each week as I cough and sneeze my way to spring - it helps a bit to think that you are fighting back against flu. Although most symptoms are probably from colds.

Is it possible to ask your friend how they promote the survey as I and many of my healthcare colleagues have never heard of it? (not trying to be cheeky, genuinely wondering )

I can ask but I'm pretty sure he's on holiday at the moment. He asked me directly in 2011/2012 ish but I've since followed their fb and share it occasionally.

Thanks Straycatblue been a tough week but we're getting there. Survey working fine today so I think either site or broadband issues yesterday!

I've filled it in but was stumped at the last question - did I have Flu or a cold

I have been ill since 27th Dec - not appreciably better (possibly post viral?) but was it just a cold.......I have CFS/Fibromyalgia & got a tummy bug in the middle of it but flu? Maybe not
