www.lunchbowl.org/schools-work.html

This organisation works with children in Kibera, Kenya, providing food education and medical care.

Please consider ordering some hearts, priced to sell at only a pound, to sell to friends or at your work place. You have to buy them and pay postage. I am considering some little organza bags from ebay to make them more saleable and will print a little message to go in them.

Remember- one heart sold = three children who receive a hot lunch.

Thanks.

My brother is a headmaster. I've sent the link to him to see if his school wants to get involved.

GeekyWombat · 03/01/2018 14:23

How do you order them?

(Although YABU mentioning Valentines Day this early in January)

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2018 14:25

I was about to give you a roasting for mentioning Valentine's day in January but I'll let you off for this!

DrSeuss · 03/01/2018 15:02

It is early but if people are going to get them ordered, receive them, possibly package them, may be send an email round at work, in my case recruit kids to sell them for me, it's not so early.

If you follow the link, there's a contact button. Email them and they will fix you up.

Don't go to m&s then, bit - their shelves are full of valentines chocolate!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2018 15:20

Really Rebecca? Ugh!

I know why you've done it OP and it's a great cause so no problem with me Thanks

Rebeccaslicker · 03/01/2018 15:21

Meh better than Waitrose and Tesco - they have EASTER EGGS!!!

Why can't they have something like the OP's hearts for a change??

JuneFromBethesda · 03/01/2018 15:30

Oh I love this - thanks for posting DrSeuss. I've emailed the link to my husband and sister, who are both teachers. I'll see if I can get my childrens' school interested too.

Davros · 03/01/2018 16:04

M&S also has Easter stuff!!

NewStartAgainReallyThisTime · 03/01/2018 16:06

Why do you have to contribute to landfill to get 'free' hot dinners?

I don't understand.

There must be a better way Hmm

NewStartAgainReallyThisTime · 03/01/2018 16:08

What I mean is, I want to encourage people (including children) to want to do something for nothing.

DrSeuss · 03/01/2018 17:37

I could ask the kids I teach for a quid apiece for no return and some would give but many would not, I'm afraid. The hearts are carved from soapstone by workers in Kenya and all of the money goes to the kids. I don't think I can do any better, I'm afraid.
