I am
Wondering what you spend each month on food ? Including alcohol, household bits - eg. Cleaning products and food for packed lunches .

£480 all in.

2 adults, 2 children age 12 & 11. DC is a growing boy and has hollow legs.

1 Dog.

We do like a drink or too Blush

jaseyraex · 03/01/2018 12:40

For me, DH, a 2 and a half year old and some cats and dogs we spend about £260-£300 a month. That includes nappies and pet food, and we don't drink so no alcohol.

Blackteadrinker77 · 03/01/2018 12:41

£300 for 3 adults and 1 dog.

£75 of that is alcohol.

likebeyoncedoes · 03/01/2018 12:42

Thanks , £400
Is our budget which seems ok

I think about £300-350 would be an average. We have 3 kids but one is only 7 weeks so only need nappies for him.

KTDaly · 03/01/2018 12:43

Around £250 for two adults

Cupcakegirl13 · 03/01/2018 12:43

£500 per month two adults , three kids in nappies one on formula

MumGoneMild · 03/01/2018 12:44

£250/£300ish
2 adults, one teen a 7 year old and two cats

Blackteadrinker77 · 03/01/2018 12:45

Also just to add that anything left from the food budget each month goes in a jar, that gets added to the December budget and pays for Christmas.

Woolfrai · 03/01/2018 12:46

£350 per month for two adults. Doesn't include spend on two dogs.

Zatsuma · 03/01/2018 12:46

I think we spend around £200 a week, alcohol mainly bought separate, but the shopping includes everything from toothpaste to washing powder etc
2 adults, 4 kids and 1 dog

Aspiringcatlady · 03/01/2018 12:47

Around £250-£300 a month, for 2 adults and 1 child and 2 cats. We don't drink alcohol though.

Namelesswonder · 03/01/2018 12:50

Around £500 - 550 a month - 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 tween, no pets.

Zatsuma · 03/01/2018 12:53

I am absolutely amazed that a family can only spend £200-£250 a month on supermarket bills - in a positive way, it's a compliment!
Do you not include regular take-away? How is that even possible. Even washing powder adds up to mine (and I get it from Aldi)

stickytoffeevodka · 03/01/2018 12:54

Around £200/month - two adults and two cats.

PumpkinPie2016 · 03/01/2018 12:54

Around £300-£350 for two adults and a 4 year old who eats a lot.

That is all meals as we all take lunch either to work/preschool or DH eats his at home.

I am trying to reduce it though!

TriskaiDeckTheHallsia · 03/01/2018 12:56

Last month's was £120, but it can be anything from £80-150 depending how well stocked we are. Two adults and two cats.

Blackteadrinker77 · 03/01/2018 12:59

Zatsuma, We base our meals on the Aldi super 6 veg. We eat a very high amount of vegetables and then add in a lean protein.

We buy whole chickens and chop them up, whole gammon joints and portion etc. We make our own yoghurt etc for breakfasts with super 6 fruit.

Washing liquid is under £2 for 24 washes.

TriskaiDeckTheHallsia · 03/01/2018 12:59

RTFT I realise that's pretty low but we don't eat very healthily Blush

MumGoneMild · 03/01/2018 13:03

Zatsuma
If it's all you can afford then it's just the way it is
Cant afford a regular takeaway
Washing power is £4 from Aldi and lasts about 3/4 weeks
No booze other than the odd bottle of wine.
No one is in g or lunch during the week so that saves some cash

Spidergirl999 · 03/01/2018 13:03

We budget £500 but more than often spend more than that. 2 adults - 1 child - 1 baby.

All food, toiletries, alcohol, cleaning products, nappies, formula.

Shop at Tesco and Asda.

This doesn’t include dog food £50 per month and take out/eating out £200 per month. We have takeaway on average once every 3 weeks and eat out at least once over the weekend.

Lucisky · 03/01/2018 13:05

Our budget is £80 a week, to include cleaning stuff, dog food and booze. Obviously it goes up for high days and holidays. 2 retired adults and one dog.

geekone · 03/01/2018 13:09

Far far too much Blush

Zatsuma · 03/01/2018 13:09

It just seems that my food shop bill is forever going up.
We do have to buy some allergy-free food to the bill, but I might start using my freezer more

Zatsuma · 03/01/2018 13:10
