to wonder what is going to happen in Iran

Posting in AIBU mainly for traffic.

What is going to happen in Iran? With a hard line government and protests going on against the government I can't see that this is going to end peacefully with the government making concessions or the protesters giving in quietly.

Now the US is getting involved to certain extent, wanting to bring it to the UN for discussion. I wonder if they (the US, not the UN) that they need to get involved with military action to remove the Iranian government as they have in the past with Iraq.

Hmm Maybe the Iraq's and Iranians should come over here and sort out brexit

"they need to get involved with military action to remove the Iranian government as they have in the past with Iraq."

Yes, since that turned out so well for Iraq and The US both

Oh wait.

Battleax · 02/01/2018 23:43

Whatever progress is made, I hope it's peaceful and that the States stay out of it.

Yes, exactly. I can see Trump being daft enough to go into Iran with all guns blazing, partly because he is stupid enough (though his advisers might not be) and partly to say to North Korea 'look what we could do to you'

I think what is happening in the background with Israel and Saudi working together against Iran is interesting. There are closer and more vested interests at play here than those of the US.

SoddingSoda · 02/01/2018 23:51

Agree with scaryteacher

It's funny how the US don't seem to be too bothered with the human rights violations of Saudi Arabia or Israel taking over another country. but as they're allies the US have to go sort out Iran's political affairs Hmm

Yeah. Whatever. Apply for the Diplomatic Service.

Iran is supported by Russia. Syria is also supported by Russia. The USA was defeated by Russia when trying to remove the legitimate government of Syria. They won't try the same again.
