AIBU to have become an old fart?

I am gradually becoming more and more antisocial. I would much rather stay in than go out and I've taken up (whispering) cross stitch - please don't tell!!

Is this normal, I'm mid 40's and work long full time hours so the last thing I want to do after 10 hours at work is pretend to like people socially.

My friend has asked if I want to meet on Saturday, AIBU to turn her down to spend it on my own?

No because it's your choice.
But then don't moan if you find your friends drop you.

Meh.
I'm 32 and stayed in to finish my jigsaw puzzle rather than go out with my friends.

Currently sat sewing up holes in clothes and watching a programme about the fascinating world of thatched roofing.

Stitching is social. I have a group of 10 knitters and stitchers who come round to mine weekly. It's effectively a stitch and bitch.

Cross stitch is also meditation for the hands and for me, a form of mindfulness, in that I concentrate on the stitching as opposed to anything else.

I got a new job today. And appear to be celebrating by drinking a mug of tea. I'm 33 HmmBlush
