Can anyone recommend a good quality doll that is targeted at both sexes and/or isn’t too ‘girly’?

I bought my ds the elc jack cupcake doll for his second birthday and then the pram for his 3rd birthday, he loves them and not expensive either.

We got Ds a cabbage patch premie when he was two. It's name is Brad, he's been well loved by all the kids who came after him. Now waiting in the attic for Ds's children to come along.

John Lewis usually have nice rag dolls in.

All three of my DSs have had dolls and buggy’s, all had the £5 buggies from Tesco, lovely and durable.

My son had this Corolle doll when he was little and absolutely adored it.

All 4 of my DS had boy dolls, pushchair, kitchen, ironing board, as well as cars/construction toys etc.

Interestingly, it was easier to get neutral colour/blue/red push chair, ironing set and so on, for my eldest (in their 20s) than for my much younger DS4...

My ds has a girl doll and a boy doll complete with bright (and I mean bright highlighter) pink cot, high chair and buggy.

My husband hates. I don’t give a shit as ds loves pushing his babies around and all I care about is him being happy 🤷🏽‍♀️

We got the boy doll from ELC, he has a soft body and in a blue outfit

As fizzytonic said, that’s the one we have too. Baby Jack!

my nephew was so attached to my daughter’s dolls at 18 months so my sister bought him one and he plays with it all the time, it’s lovely to see.

My son loved his baby Annabelle. My husband wasn't happy for some reason but our son chose it and I didn't care what he played with, providing it was a safe toy

Thanks for the replies/recommendations! Just ordered the ELC cupcake jack which I think he will like!

DS1 had a doll when he was a toddler. We gave him a car seat and pushchair to fit the doll for his second birthday. The timing worked well because I was about to give birth to DS2, so we looked after our babies together.

Now aged 17, he is good at caring for young children and has several regular babysitting jobs.

TheSecondOfHerName · 01/01/2018 18:07

The other toy that a lot of toddlers seem to enjoy playing with is a vacuum cleaner.

TheSecondOfHerName · 01/01/2018 18:08

The car seat / pushchair we got were blue, because that was DS1's favourite colour at the time.

My son had a baby born, but I think he might have been a bit older, which would probably make a differece.

Atticusss · 01/01/2018 18:10

You are being unreasonable, to feel the need to even ask. Hmm

UrgentScurryfunge · 01/01/2018 18:17

My DSs have the ELC dolls and a purple silver cross ranger pram which looks pleasantly realistic. The 4 year old still likes them.

Growing up, dolls and their accessories weren't so pinkified (definitely not my boy doll with willy Grin). I preferred a more realistic range of colours.

JeremiahBackflip · 01/01/2018 18:22

DS has a baby doll, chosen as a Christmas present by his sister this year. It's purple (all he said he wanted was a purple present from santa) and he loves it. He doesn't care about the colour he just loves his baby Grin

He plays with prams and dolls and looks after them just like his dad looks after him and other dads look after babies.

I got DS (15 months) this - he loves him!
