To be hopeful that I'm pregnant...

AF was due yesterday and I am surprised by just how much I want to be pregnant!

Thing is DH and I aren't trying yet but did have unprotected sex about a week before I ovulated - did the pull out thing so there's only a very slim chance I am actually pregnant.

It's not an issue as we were going to try in a few months anyway.

I did a test yesterday and it was negative, am I holding onto false hope?

You're going to get a few 'I didn't get a positive test until the baby crowned!' comments, but the truth is with pull-out a week before ovulation and a negative test the day your period is due it's very, very unlikely you're pregnant. Not impossible, but very unlikely.

If this has made you realise you'd like to be pregnant sooner, is there any reason you and DH need to continue waiting for another few months, or can you move it up?

Yeah that's what I was thinking Lisa, I wish AF had been on time then I wouldn't have got my hopes up!

We have reasons around my DH's work why we were waiting a while. Sigh.

I've always had a clear positive when I've tested day period due or day after.

I've also got pregnant from cycle day 7 sex.

Well no, yanbu but I do think that if it's important to your partner to wait then maybe more protection against is needed for the time being.

I hope you get the answer you want
