Mine are

  1. to focus more on being healthy and taking care of myself.
  2. start the research for my book
  3. be more organised ( can anyone recommend an organiser app or something?)

What are yours? Or anything you'd like to change next year?

*Stop being such a doormat
*Get my horse back into proper work
*Learn to say no and mean it
*To not engage with arse of an ex who decides to send messages when he feels the urge to mess with my head again. Particularly struggling with this before the new year even starts!

yummyeclair · 31/12/2017 10:52

Declutter - 27 things sounds great way. Cook and plan healthy family meals . Read books every night. Walk and dance everyday 20 minutes x 2 . Start and write in a gratitude notebook to remind myself about all the great little things that happen everyday - found I was letting myself getting dragged down by social media.

JennyHolzersGhost · 31/12/2017 10:55

As I already said on this thread:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3122026-Too-early-Whats-your-New-Year-Resolution

Mine are:
Walk more
Volunteer for charity
Get my work mojo back

To which I’ll add:
Do a big clear out of the house
No buying any new books til I’ve read all the unread ones I’ve already bought Blush

mumontherun14 · 31/12/2017 11:49

Mine are
Sort out my finances
Do one healthy thing for myself each week e.g swimming
Join slimming world -eat better & lose weight
Cut down on social media in the evenings -wastes too much time
Get some practical help arranged for my elderly parents
Cut down my hours at work

The decluttering one sounds good too- I thought 27 items sounded loads then looked about and realised I could get them from DD's room alone!

Good luck all xxxx

Unevenbeard · 31/12/2017 12:03
  1. Give up smoking
  2. Cut down on red bull
  3. Try to make more of an effort with my appearance
EnglishRose13 · 31/12/2017 14:04

My New Years resolution is to stop swearing so much. I have a 20 month old that repeats everything.

So...

Fuck, wank, bugger, shitting, arse, head and hole

...While I still can.

Eliza9917 · 31/12/2017 14:26

Lose the stones I need to.
Declutter the house.
Exercise x3 per week.
Give up smoking.
Drink less.
Move abroad.

BusterGonad · 31/12/2017 14:29

I'm not bothering as it only lowers your self esteem when you can't fulfill them! My only thing I'm doing differently this year is doing my weekly shop online to save myself the hassle of going to the supermarket!

NameChanger22 · 31/12/2017 14:31

1 - buy less stuff.
2 - eat less.
3 - continue moaning about Brexit to anyone that will listen.

Taylor22 · 31/12/2017 14:35

To chill the fuck out.
Stressing about stuff doesn't resolve anything.

Rossigigi · 31/12/2017 14:42
  1. stop smoking
  2. stop chasing someone when I realistically know it's not going anywhere
  3. keep that someone as a friend, not a friend with benefits (that's where it falls apart each time)
  4. carry on writing my book
  5. stop ordering takeaways
  6. stop buying so much food that I end up throwing out (a whole fridge full this Xmas- stupid!!)
  7. carry on drinking lots of water, along with the kids (we fell down a little on this over Xmas with squash and soft drinks)
  8. Start swimming again
  9. loose the weight I've put on
  10. de-clutter!

So that is the plan. Shall we revisit at the end of January? Lol

Rarotonga · 31/12/2017 14:45

To take more photographs of my son, DH and I together.

Rossigigi · 31/12/2017 14:45

Oh and everytime someone sends me an 'amazing opportunity to work from home' MLM crap on social media- block them! Don't care who they are!

Singingtherapy · 31/12/2017 14:52

Improve communication with my daughters and walk 10,000 steps a day.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 31/12/2017 15:00

Stop shouting. I've found this year v tough and it's turned into a horrible habit.

Agree with pp, also want to stop swearing

Generally cut down on present giving. Christmas was just too much so I'd like to trim down the people I exchange presents with then and for birthdays too. If will be reciprocal, I won't just not buy for them but enjoy a gift back Grin

I also have baby dc2 which I am finding very difficult. As awful as it sounds I keep telling myself that by the end of next year he'll be a toddler and I'll never have to go through this hell again (I love him deeply but I find the scorched earth baby stage agonising).

Stop eating chocolate every night. Just stop. I'll feel so much better about myself.

Johnnycomelately1 · 31/12/2017 15:03
  1. Going cold turkey on social media so if you see me on here before end of June you know I failed.
  1. Going to try to win a veteran category OCR.
  1. Read to the dc every night
  1. ‘ no excuse for single use’. Already almost there but need to eliminate the exceptions.
TheNaze73 · 31/12/2017 15:04

To make the big decision either way I’ve been dodging & to be less head strong

PrinceofWales · 31/12/2017 15:26

So many good ones here. :-)

Any more?

OP posts:
lastqueenofscotland · 31/12/2017 15:28

To read 50 books
Buy a new house
Run a good for Age marathon time

JaceLancs · 31/12/2017 15:52

Sort out my finances then keep on top of them
Lose weight (lost 4 stone last year got another 2.5 stone to go)
Go on as many holidays and short breaks as possible
Get back into my family tree research

restbiterepeat · 31/12/2017 15:58

Use the car less, cycle more.

Nothing beyond that really.

Introvertpants · 31/12/2017 15:58

Lose the four stone I'm lumping about. Dp have talked about ttc at the end of 2018 so I need to get healthy and slim.

Spend more time outdoors with dd who will be 8 soon. I always wanted a outdoorsy family who enjoy nature. I have a physical job and I'm too good at just wanting to veg when I come home. Dd gets to go swimming lessons and that's about as much exercise as she gets. Although she's slim and healthy I think she would benefit from some outdoor time. Hard in the winter though.

Read a lot more

xkatie27x · 31/12/2017 16:02

To finish writing my book, and to get back to my daily gym classes!

Ohyesiam · 31/12/2017 16:37

To only say stuff about people that I would happily say to their face.

To re kindle my yoga practice

To loose the rest of my excess weight- I'm over half way, but I'm scared because I've wobbled

To get my dream house
