She used to just be happy watching it but she now she wants to try to make stuff.

It's always loads harder than it looks on TV & never looks like it does he makes it.

We have to keep her 'art' until she has forgotten about it & can be recycled.

I'd rather she watched trash on the Disney channel!

AIBU?

Of course yabu to stop her being creative! But if she gets very upset when the things are too difficult I can understand that. But you still have to find other ways to let her be creative.

Grin Your post is somehow the most and least mumsnetty thing I've ever read!

I used to hate mister maker. The stuff he made was utter shite. Especially his make under a minute trash. Also, what an annoying twat.

Luckily, dd has grown out of it now.

Nothing sends despair through me quite so effectively as ‘mummy, can we get the craft box out?’ Fuck off, Mr Maker.

Nquartz · 31/12/2017 09:00

Colonel she's allowed to be creative, she's spent the last 2 days randomly painting a cardboard box & she's always colouring/gluing/sticking, its that she wants to make that specific picture/model/piece of tat that fills me with dread.

Who thought it was a good idea to suggest children are given free rein with paint & a toothbrush?! We now have blue paint splatters on our (pale) dining room wall Angry

Can you download alternatives? I hate some of the new children's stuff on the telly, so I've downloaded some of the old stuff that has stood the test of time.

elfieonshelfie · 31/12/2017 09:04

I get this... my daughters love been creative however I don't let them have the huge craft box out very often as I end up with loads of glue, paint, glitter and the rest of the stuff all over the house. I try to contain but it never stays in one place.

Pen is a regular pain in the arse in our house that gets everwhere as my 3yo some how sneaks them from wherever she can and draws on this like my sofa and walls! Thank goodness for hairspray that's all I can say!

lightcola · 31/12/2017 09:05

Haha. Yes. I rush it off the telly too.

lurkingnotlurking · 31/12/2017 09:06

Let her have a pile of junk for modelling and loads of stuff to freestyle with instead.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 31/12/2017 09:08

Get Netflix!

Failing that learn the phrase 'that's very good polly, I'll file that, with the council'

RedBlackberries · 31/12/2017 09:10

Yeah fuck off Mr Maker!! Grin

If I was feeling like supermum I wouldn't have put her in front of the telly. YANBU
