To hold the tampax string out of the way (or not, as the case may be)!

Chatting to my bf the other day and one of us holds the string out of the way when we have a wee, the other doesn't! Each of us was as incredulous as the other that we would do it 'our way' (iyswim!!)
What do you lot do?

Hold out of the way-gets wet otherwise surely Hmm

MickeyLuv · 30/12/2017 21:36

I don't touch the string until it's needed to pull it out!

speakout · 30/12/2017 21:36

Hold.

Otherwise its a drippy mess.

Whisky2014 · 30/12/2017 21:37

I find either way it gets wet :( so i change o every pee

SparklyMagpie · 30/12/2017 21:37

I don't touch the string until pulling out

Why would you faff about and probably end up with piss on your hands either way?

userofthiswebsite · 30/12/2017 21:38

Yeah I used to hold it to one side.
Now use the cup so no string issue.
Yay...
Though it does have its downsides.

SparklyMagpie · 30/12/2017 21:38

But surely the toilet paper gets rid of the majority of the wetness when you wipe??

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 30/12/2017 21:39

Um.Blush

I must have a really long fanjo as my string doesn't really 'dangle' in the way.

Or maybe I just tuck away?Confused

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/12/2017 21:40

I just changed it when I had a wee so wasn't ever any need to hold it out the way as I'd already removed it.

I don’t hold it out of the way. I think it sits slightly to the side anyway and I don’t fancy ferreting about for it anyway. It’s only a little thread, don’t think it holds that much wee.

Polomintini · 30/12/2017 21:43

I learnt about mooncup on mn. It has changed the way I view periods. Change once in the morning and once at night, feel clean and fresh. Amazed that I got to my age without knowing these things exist so now take very chance to share (not many chances arise in rl!)

StopFuckingAbout · 30/12/2017 21:44

I don't use them since a friend had toxic shock from one. However I used to, and was told that some women tuck the string up a little so it doesn't get wee on.

StrawberryMummy90 · 30/12/2017 21:44

Move it out the way! Absolutely disgusting not to, gets covered in piss and no, toilet paper will not soak it all up! Envy

If I changed tampons every time I weed I’d need a gazillion!

I don’t wear them anymore but I would have tucked the string out of the way.

Argeles · 30/12/2017 21:47

I change mine every time I wee, as it seems to move position and gets uncomfortable.

CandleLit · 30/12/2017 21:47

I'm with Mother. Tuck and pat dry.

liquidrevolution · 30/12/2017 21:47

I used to tuck away. God I miss being able to wear tampons.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 30/12/2017 21:48

Not everyone wants to use a mooncup. Using a tampon doesn't = not knowing about mooncups!

And I don't hold the string out of the way when I wee. The Sainsbury's tampon strings are bloody short, so I'd just get wet fingers!

Eatingwormswithwine · 30/12/2017 21:52

You lot really need to quit the tampons. Expensive, unhygienic, dangerous and really bad for the planet. Moon cup all the way

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 30/12/2017 21:53

Us lot will choose whatever method we prefer, thanks all the same.

SnowFairyDust · 30/12/2017 21:53

I change every wee too! I don't wee that often though!

Pixiedust1973 · 30/12/2017 21:55

LOL! I can't bear the feel of it so just shove it up there with the rest of it! Grin

speakout · 30/12/2017 21:55

My gyneacologist has advised against mooncups- we are a family of grown women with several endometriosis sufferers. He has told me it can increase the risk of endometriosis.

So no thanks.
