To cancel NCT as only 3 other couples?

Got an email from the course organiser yesterday saying the NCT signature course I've booked on to (£300) has "3 confirmed couples including yourselves."

I can't work out from her email how many people will actually be attending as I am not in a couple. So I guess 2 couples plus me?

She's given us until tomorrow to decide if we still want to go ahead with this low number.

I'm undecided - the main reason for booking on to NCT was for the social aspect, and obviously with fewer couples the chance of finding people you gel with is less.

What would you do?

I found NCT course a bit rubbish for info but fab for friends and a support group afterwards. Perhaps see if there's another NCT course a little further away which you could go to instead which has more couples?

I went to the local NHS classes and liked those-they were well attennded and good fun. DH liked them too. We went to a NCT weekend course and it was expensive and really poor - badly attended and quite condescending. DH was bored. Never saw anyone again.

I thought our NCT course was rubbish. Found out more through the free NHS one than that one. Thank goodness we didn't pay that much!
It was frankly a waste of time for us, I faked sickness and left after lunch and did not return for the second one.
If its mainly for the social aspect you're going then yes I'd cancel. £300 is a lot to pay for so few potential connections.

If you can justify the expense, I'd still do the NCT course. They are miles better than the NHS one and give you much, much better information, in my opinion. I felt far more informed after my NCT course and felt like I'd learnt nothing from the NHS one. It was shit!
