.....to want to know when an item is reduced in the sales?

Got my eye on a coat, currently full price at £189, but that's out of my league.
Is there any app or website where you can enter item details and you then get a notification if the price drops?

Thanks for introducing me to to Google, but I was actually hoping for feedback on sites that people had actually used successfully.

No OP. Do it the hard way and watch daily like the rest of us. Also if its not in the sales yet it wont be until it's out of season. Coats tend to go on sale mid/late Jan.

Spangles7 · 30/12/2017 17:01

Google assistant sends you a notification when something you have previously looked at online is reduced.

purplecorkheart · 30/12/2017 17:05

If the coat is available online add it to your shopping basket (when logged in)but don't check out. Often the shop will email you to let you know the item has been reduced and a few send a discount code a few days later to tempt you to buy.

This is probably the least helpful post I'll ever make...
But yes! There is a site that does exactly that. But I can't remember what it is called

The only useful thing I can remember is that the site sponsored a couple of episodes of My Dad Wrote A Porno, and Alice Levine explained during the podcast how it worked

Sorry I can't be more useful Blush

purplecorkheart · 31/12/2017 17:31

Shoptagr might be the app you are talking about

reallybadidea · 31/12/2017 17:35

Pinterest notifies me of something that I have pinned goes down in price.

BuffyFan · 31/12/2017 17:38

Camelcamelcamel does this for Amazon, not sure if it goes beyond that to other sites though uk.camelcamelcamel.com

treeofhearts · 31/12/2017 17:38

Sometimes the shops don't even know. We have no clue until we get the POS turn up with a note saying to put up from X date until Y date. Occasionally we will know in advance with things such as summer clearance but that is literally a whacking great list of barcodes that we have to scan and find so it's a case of following the gun around the store looking for things and never in order. I wouldn't rely on anything that claims to tell you, just keep checking back.

Chattymummyhere · 31/12/2017 17:44

If it’s not reduced by New Year’s Day it won’t be untill they want to discontinue it. Most places however have started their sales since Boxing Day just reducing further till the end of January rather than adding reduced items.

HemlockStarglimmer · 31/12/2017 18:02

Same as treeofhearts. I and my colleagues have spent the last five days scanning everything in the shop and writing sale labels as appropriate.

HemlockStarglimmer · 31/12/2017 18:04

Oh. And getting bollocked by the occasional customer for not knowing in advance.

Thanks for suggestions.
I've fallen in love with another 4 coats so think I'm not safe online with my credit card!
