Dc1- in for monitoring of pre eclampsia symptoms. Spontaneous labour that night (inattentive midwife telling me it was Brixton hicks). Full blown labour by 6am. Given gas and air but not shown how to use is, given pethidine and threw up. Lovely Scottish midwife took over. Begged for epidural and had one. Labour slowed, drip, coups to feel to push.
Room filled with people, ventouse, episiotomy and several stitches all done.

Dc2. Overdue by a few days. Had sex, had wee, felt a contraction.
Every three mins, very mild. Called hospital who said to come in. Had a bath. Shaved legs (badly). Gotmin car. Things progressed quickly. Got to hospital and could barely make the car park. A and e nurses ran me to maternity. Maternity totally blase. Changed and shown how to use gas and air. Loved it! Tried ball. Hated it. Had internal, midwife had to leave hand in during contraction. Kept going then up on all fours. Gas and air stopped working. Body (not me) have two pushes then baby was born.
