Grin Isn't that cute? And aren't I lucky to have a MIL like that?

I've been with DH for almost 15 years now...bless MIL. She must really love me for real as she's never said it before!

I am very lucky to have a wonderful MIL. She tells me that I am the best DIL in the world and that if she had ever had a daughter she would have wanted her to be like me! Bless. She is a very kind and frail old lady now, but we have never had a cross word in almost 20 years, and I can honestly say I love her and will really miss her when she's gone. FIL was a different matter.....

LollaLaLuna · 26/12/2017 18:35

That's lovely, my mil is same, I'm like her daughter, it's very comforting to have mil such she is on my side, she's never judgmental and always understanding. I really appreciate her, coz I know its rare.

BangPippleGo · 26/12/2017 18:58

Aw that's lovely!

I've been with DH 6 years and remember the first time MIL told me she loved me. DH and I come from very different families- his do not display any affection towards eachother and mine are a bit OTT with it. So I'll say "I love you" when I say goodbye to any of my family whereas MIL and DH didn't say it to each other at all.

A couple of years ago they started saying it at the end of every phone conversation and when they say goodbye and it makes me all gooey inside to know that it was because of my influence Grin

Bang gorgeous! Now your MIL can relax in the knowledge that she's spoken the words....people sometimes live to regret not telling don't they?
