To feel annoyed that the kids take over lunch

Got lunch today with DH, my mum, DS, DSS and DSD. The two boys would not entertain trying any of the starter. My son was there looking like he was chewing on a wasp and my step son was making a massive fuss about how he 'hated' everything having never tried it. Lunch became all about them and it so bloody annoying as myself and DH have worked really hard. I'm now in a mood with both of them. Bloody kids.

Yup! Don't remember last time I enjoyed my lunch!

I’m cooking some lovely bits for Christmas lunch tomorrow but only in small batches as it will only be me and dh eating them. The kids won’t touch it.

How old are they? I tend to ignore whinging fussiness and just get on with enjoying my own food. Then whisk away plates when you’re done. Don’t offer alternatives if they’re moaning that they’re hungry.

I do the same with grown up fusspots as well, unless they’ve let me know before I start cooking.

My son is 14 so I guess prime age for wasp chewing and DSS is 7 so prime age for playing up. I'm doomed Sad
