Got all the Christmas food yesterday. DH wants to dive straight in and start eating the pate, cheeses, crackers etc. Kids want to open the box of chocolates.

AIBU to want to save the food for Christmas Day onwards? Confused

What's the general view here?!
It just doesn't seem an occasion if by the time 25th rolls around you've eaten all the best stuff to me.

I am the keeper of the Christmas food and we start to nibble at it today. Any time before and it’s a prisonable offence in this house 😂😂

I have always been a 4pm on Xmas Eve when you start a buffet girl. However, this year I am recovering from surgery and since mid November have only left the house for a week and am likely to be in for another 2 weeks so everything has been ordered online. I also can't eat but have cocompensated by ordering a ridiculous amount of food. DS3 arrived home on Friday and correctly pointed out they are all leaving by Boxing Day teatime so food should be started. It began with a tub of Twiglets, yesterday the tin of Heroes was opened, it is a slippery slope.....
When we did this thread last year, I thought most people said Xmas Eve, I wonder if it is the fact that most offices/businesses 'broke up' on Friday the 22nd meant taht we all got into the festive mood earlier.
