CautionTape · 22/12/2017 13:23

Both my DC getting the places at University and drama school that they wanted. And more importantly settling in so so well.

My 5year old (autistic and non verbal) said mummy. Grin

GaryWilmotsTeeth · 22/12/2017 13:26

being able to buy the house I had fantasised for ages about living in. I sometimes still just wander round and look in the rooms and out at the view and have to stop and smile because I can't quite believe it is ours.

Nowwhyareyoucrying · 22/12/2017 13:31

After 5 long years of infertility finally falling pregnant (through IVF) with my son who is due in the spring. It has truly been the best year ever.

Funnyface1 · 22/12/2017 13:40

Having a successful operation that has dealt with terrible pain I'd been having for 2 years.

Moving into our dream home (and away from our hellish neighbours).

Watching my dc grow and develop in different, fabulous ways (ds 7, dd 1).

TheOtherGirl · 22/12/2017 13:45

Getting a fantastic cleaner - I can't believe I have done without one for so long.

Cutting my hours down at work to set up a little sideline venture which is incredibly rewarding.

My friends - you are judged by the company that you keep, and I'm so grateful and proud to call these amazing women my friends. They have looked after me so well since my Mum's diagnosis, and made me laugh on even the darkest days.

DH - loving you, and being loved by you is a true privilege. You hold my heart and always will.

Bitsandbobsalot · 22/12/2017 13:46

I’ve had a wonderful year all round tbh but the best has been this morning seeing my surprise rainbow baby’s heartbeat and growing perfectly at 7+2. I was deemed infertile last year after 6 years ttc and 9 failed rounds of clomid (with 1mc)

JediStoleMyBike · 22/12/2017 13:47

Giving birth to my gorgeous daughter and buying and doing up our own home. Busy year 🙂

Bambamber · 22/12/2017 13:48

Got married, became a mum and bought our family home

SurlyValentine · 22/12/2017 13:50

Bit of a list here, sorry!

  • Got married
  • DSS has settled amazingly well into secondary school - I'm talking achievement certificates and everything. Really did not anticipate this after a couple of worrying years at primary
  • Bought a fabulous house with room for the DSCs to have a room each, after 8 years in shitty rented houses
  • My best friend is pregnant after three years of trying, and on the verge of starting IVF treatment. So so happy for her and her DP Grin

Moving back to my home city into a lovely home
Getting a promotion and new job
Watching my son grow up

MadisonAvenue · 22/12/2017 13:51

My teenage son finally getting much needed surgery and him looking so well afterwards. He's endured years of ignorant bastards people staring at him and asking why he looks so ill and making comments and now that is all behind him.

On a more trivial note, meeting one of my favourite ever footballers and getting a photo with him.

DampF0ggy · 23/12/2017 17:43

Luckily got new job and moved. Also relative was very ill, but has made miraculous recovery

sidsgranny · 23/12/2017 18:01

Us all still being here. We've had a shit year health wise for me, DH, DM & DF and I really thought at one point that it would be very different. DM & DF spending it with us so looking forward to giving them extra big hugs and sharing large glasses of wine. Onwards & upwards in 2018!

Getting married

Buying and moving house

Honeymoon with my boys

JemimaMuddledUp · 23/12/2017 18:46

At the end of 2016 I promised myself if I didn't get a promotion in the next 12 months I would go back and do an MSc.

Fast forward 12 months and I not only got a promotion but my employer is considering my application for support in doing a PT MSc whilst still working. So in another 12 months time I could well be doing both!

kittensarecute · 23/12/2017 18:53

Playing Queenie in a stage production of Blackadder earlier this year, I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd get the part and loved every moment.

Nikephorus · 25/12/2017 10:32

Going to church yesterday. I know it doesn't seem like much at all but I'm autistic, I'm struggling more and more with going anywhere different (basically dog-walking is my limit) and the idea of going somewhere new AND having to slightly interact with people (with all the things that I could get wrong in that situation) was hugely scary. But I've built myself up to it and I made it and enjoyed it (and managed to ask a couple (of admittedly simple) questions instead of staying dumb) so I'm feeling really brave and looking forward to going again next week!
