I'm watching - it seems like such a great idea, it's a shame it was only a six week experiment. Are there any of these schemes actually up and running in the UK I wonder?

I know two schools and nurseries in my area who take about 10 children two or three times a week to local nursing homes for crafts/activities. Ours don't look anything like this one though Grin

There are in the US

It would greatly benefit some of the children in our school too.

I would love this for my kids.

But especially for my grandma who lives in a nursing home and has severe Alzheimers disease. She barely interact with the world and can be really unpleasant due to the illness. The only thing that puts a smile on her face are children. She was a primary school teacher for 40 years, and she still loves the noise children make, and she remembers all the nursery rhymes.

I always take my kids to see her when we are in the area. They are 2 and almost 4 and I think it's great for them too.
