To not want new rings?

I have an engagement ring, wedding ring and eternity ring. I remove them when I bathe, shower and had also recently been decorating so hadn't been wearing them whilst I did it. I have a toddler who is like a magpie. I realised they were missing but cannot find them anywhere. I have turned my house literally upside down. My Husband has said he will claim them on the insurance but I am so upset. I don't want new ones. I can't even sleep thinking about where they are! Do I sound really ungrateful telling my Husband I don't want new ones. I don't want to sound like a brat but I just want mine back! :'(

I hid my mums in between the bed sheets when I was little.

I hope you find them. My rings aren't worth much in value but I couldn't replace them so I know what you mean. Although, sods law says if you get replacements they will turn up...

Cat flap, under the kitchen surfaces, washing basket, radiators, down the side of the sofa, swallowed, inside their toy kitchen, in a shaggy rug...

Oh and I once lost mine on my chest of drawers - I'd put a lid down on top of them and couldn't find them for days

My friend found hers inside the hoover

You can't do a pretend search tho. You can't trick the magic like that. You have to be patient

Hahaha very true!

I lost my wedding ring quite a few months ago. I thought I had left it by the kitchen sink, but it disappeared.

Anyway, dh found it last week under one of our sofas - between the storage boxes. No idea how it got there, ds2 is a teenager and we’ve not had any small children in the house (or any children).

My mum lost a gold ring when I was a child. She had given up ever seeing it again. As a teenager I was looking for a candle in the utility room and found the ring stuck to the bottom of a large candle.

So don’t give up hope (though I lost my engagement ring in the car, and even though dh crashed it a few months later and the internal carpet was taken up, there was no sign of it).

IME toddlers like to 'post' things. Do you have any cracks in the floor? What about drawers s/he could have slid them inside? Check toys, tea sets, kitchen cupboards, soft toys, etc.

I lost my engagement ring last month - probably while I was in town - so I feel your pain. The good news is that your rings should turn up at some point, as they've been lost in the house.

Have you checked the places where you could have hidden the rings?

My mom used to hide them in piles of clothes when she was not wearing them for a long time or when we were going away. Once she could not find one anymore and I was the magpie toddler so was accused of having taken it. I had not and since my dad gave her a new ring I got the one she retrieved a year later between two nighties as my graduation present Grin

Oh OP I feel for you! I lost my rings a couple of years ago and was devastated. I knew they were in the house so we searched everywhere. My DH and DS both went through the (full) kitchen bin and eventually found them inside half an eggshell! Grin

If I lose something after the usual search proves fruitless I take a step back and stop looking. I then tidy the house methodically and usually find said item. Down the sides of the settee in usually where I find missing items. I feel for you OP I lost my engagement and wedding ring on holiday and ended up replacing them via my insurance x
