To ask you to diagnose the alien in my belly?

When I lay down I feel something moving in my lower abdomen. I'm in the bath at the minute so can see my belly and it actually moves when I feel it move. It has a raised area to the right - I've noticed it before and can physically see this lump disappear again if I stare long enough! other than an alien what else could it be?? Poo? Wind?

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 17/12/2017 17:23

Hernia?

DownTheChimney · 17/12/2017 17:23

A hernia?? Shock

Triskaidekaphilia · 17/12/2017 17:24

Hernia maybe? Do hernias move?

Whizziwig · 17/12/2017 17:24

I have had this. I think it can be either some form of indigestion or there is a big artery/vein that runs through the abdomen.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 17/12/2017 17:24

It's probably just poo. Especially if you are not overweight.

CremeFresh · 17/12/2017 17:25

Sounds like a hernia and what you can see moving is peristalsis of the bowel.

BertieBotts · 17/12/2017 17:31

Are you very slim? It is probably wind.

fishonabicycle · 17/12/2017 17:33

Could be wind ... Get it checked out anyway.

Clovertoast · 18/12/2017 01:08

Hernia or baby. The same thing happened to my mum and it turned out the movement was my sister!

Sanshin · 18/12/2017 07:10

Fluffywhitecloud, have you forgotten to take your medication dear?

I've suspected a hernia for a while now as that side of my abdomen is always more swollen than the other side. But it's been like it for years! Would they actually do anything about it?
