Formula one is looking at the use of grid girls. Interesting reading the opinions of F1 fans. Would you want to be a grid girl?

I doesn't have to be 'girls'. So,e venues already use children (bit like football teams do).

Pretty male models appear occasionally too.

So if part of a mixed diet IYSWIM, then that's OK. But as some tracks do it as routine, and it's a throwback to the old 'dolly birds' days, then yes it needs to be cut out totally for a while. And perhaps the tracks that use children/juniors should be hailed as having the better approach.

Similar to the women who prance around boxing rings holding up signs saying "Round 3"? Of course they are not necessary.

Cheerleaders are also 'not necessary'..............

I do it if I was a lot younger and slimmer! If it meant I got paid to go to Grands Prix I'd be happy. Providing the grid girls have chosen to do it I don't have a problem, whereas children may get pushed into it by parents.

I don’t understand why we think we can remove legitimate job opportunities for consenting adults in full possession of their faculties just because it’s “not necessary”.
