Vomming child

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 14:26

AIBU to think that if your child was projectile vomiting in the train station loo (all over walls etc) you wouldn't then put them on the train.
It's a Santa special
DOI I witnessed the vomiting and we're now stuck sat opposite them. They have a black bin liner....
It's okay, of course I was expecting some kind of illness over xmas, and at least this one will come with some weightloss....

Yuk. Presuming they haven't got a rare disorder that's grim and unfair on the kid and everyone else

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 14:32

The child stinks of vomit....

imokit · 16/12/2017 14:33

How do you know they aren't on their way home?

DailyMaileatmyshit · 16/12/2017 14:33

Depends on why they are throwing up but generally, no.

DailyMaileatmyshit · 16/12/2017 14:34

Imokit it's a Santa train, not a transport method

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 14:36

They are not on their way home. It's a festive there and back trip... the mother has vomit all over her coat.
I have the utmost sympathy and we've all been there, but Really????

Yorkshirelassie · 16/12/2017 14:42

Totally grim in my opinion... why do people do this sort of thing is beyond me...you're braver than me though OP I would have had to move or disembark by now Confused

StepAwayFromGoogle · 16/12/2017 14:44

OP, YANBU. If your child is projectile vomming, you take them home. Every parent knows that projectile voms don't come in singles. You are going to watch that child being sick to Santa and back. Best of luck.

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 14:45

I'm going to have a word when we get off. There are loads of elderly grandparents on here. A vomiting bug can be really serious in some

Supermagicsmile · 16/12/2017 14:46

That's awful, she should have rescheduled, the poor child and unfair on the rest of you!

SandysMam · 16/12/2017 14:50

I have kidney problems and a sickness bug could make them fail. I hate selfish fuckers like this (the parents, not the child). For someone like me, someone on chemo, someone with a compromised immune system, this could be life and death. Angry

Chattymummyhere · 16/12/2017 14:51

OH that’s nasty. I say that sat here with a vomit toddler currently napping in between being sick. There’s a few nasty ones this year and you just suck it up and stay in.

BrutusMcDogface · 16/12/2017 14:51

I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from saying something! How dare they!

AuntLydia · 16/12/2017 14:52

Oh God, that's grim. I can't imagine your 'word' going down well though. I reckon you'd have to have a completely bonkers set of priorities to carry on with a santa trip in those circumstances.

Hedgehog80 · 16/12/2017 14:54

Any non contagious disorder aside ....what a selfish idiot. If is a bug they are putting so many others at risk. Nobody wants a bug but for some it can be really dangerous or life threatening

NetRunner · 16/12/2017 14:54

YANBU at all. Unless the child has some non-contagious reason for this, it's totally selfish and unreasonable. Can't believe anyone would do this.

comedycentral · 16/12/2017 14:55

I think your 'word' will be poor timing, they are having the day from hell by the sound of it, I hope they learn their lesson from that alone.

comedycentral · 16/12/2017 14:56

But yes they are totally out of order and YANBU

Glumglowworm · 16/12/2017 15:16

YANBU

selfish dicks

Yes it’s bad timing and they may not be able to reschedule or get a refund. But that’s just tough, these things happen with children. They should’ve taken child straight home.

NetRunner · 16/12/2017 15:28

And I WOULD have a word. Yes, it is shit and bad timing but that doesn't give them the right to inflict it on others. They clearly don't give a crap about anyone else's celebrations or wellbeing and need to hear how unreasonable and selfish they've been. Might just stop them doing it again.

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 15:31

Had a word.
Completely predictable "we paid for our tickets too" attitude. Even when I pointed out that there were potentially elderly/ill people on the train for whom a vomiting bug could be serious....
Ho hum....

OP posts:
Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 15:32

Also can't believe that out of the 240ish seats on the train, it had to be us...

OP posts:
MrMeSeeks · 16/12/2017 15:35

Selfish.

RuLu · 16/12/2017 15:36

I would have a word with the staff & ask to be moved - although that may not be possible, it highlights what's going on (maybe they'll move them!!). It's not reasonable that you should have to put up with that, rather than relax, you're on edge as you may get puked on. Nor should anyone be at risk of catching it! Outrageous, selfish behaviour! I know these things cost a fair bit but everyone else surrounding them will be having their experience ruined!

SandLand · 16/12/2017 15:38

Talk to the staff, sooner rather than later (or they will claim it came on after they had boarded)
