Vomming child

AIBU to think that if your child was projectile vomiting in the train station loo (all over walls etc) you wouldn't then put them on the train.
It's a Santa special
DOI I witnessed the vomiting and we're now stuck sat opposite them. They have a black bin liner....
It's okay, of course I was expecting some kind of illness over xmas, and at least this one will come with some weightloss....

Totally agree with you WestWorldWatcher. The child should have been taken home, full stop. I would hate to sit next to a child smelling of vomit, it doesn't mean that I wouldn't feel sorry for them. I would however, be bloody furious with the "parents".

Bigfoot1 · 16/12/2017 20:10

I actually felt very sorry for them. It wasn't cheap and the child would have otherwise missed it.
Not sure how much the child was aware of my questioning. I'd guesstimate the age to be between 2 and 3 (maybe at the upper end of that as she looked tall but she was still in nappies IYSWIM)
Other than the initial questionning there was no other interaction on the journey or otherwise.

(Apart from as we disembarked at the end)

Girl

You sound a delight.

So thoughtful and considerate.

Joking.

Yes those parents on the train should have taken the kids home. Santa could have brought the child an extra present on Christmas Day as compensation for missing the trip.

I don't think we should judge Girl without knowing her circumstances Maybe she is planning on driving to a remote area with her DS -very different to taking him to a cafe with a self service buffet.

MrMeSeeks · 16/12/2017 21:10

but if he thinks he wants to out tomorrow I'll let him it's his holiday too it's not cholera or something

As an immunocompromised person, thankyou so much for your selflessness Confused

QuackPorridgeBacon · 17/12/2017 11:18

I’d be fuming and would say something even if it wasn’t nice. Some idiot must have sent their sick child to my elder child’s school because we all got a bug. My immune compromised child ended up with a hospital stay, dehydration and unnecessary blood tests to make sure her heart didn’t reject! Dumb ass people mean my child and others like her have to suffer due to stupid people. How on earth can the mother stand the smell enough to keep it on her coat? That alone is grim...

QuackPorridgeBacon · 17/12/2017 11:35

girlingerrupting You are the type of selfish, inconsiderate and downright nasty person that has me fearing for my child’s life to the point I rarely take her out. Reading what you have wrote I’m considering not allowing her to be at school. It’s unrealistic obviously but parents like you terrify me.

Naty1 · 17/12/2017 11:51

Quack, it's more likely a child came down sick at school as they often come down with stuff suddenly.

I cant see why they took the child on the train, evenwith sibs possibly they could have stayed with one parent.

Could it have been motion sickness if they just arrived to go on the train in a car. Though I suspect then they would have had changes of clothes.

Some kids do get sick with temperatures or coughs. My 2yo has been sick this week but noone else has caught it and only as above with temps and coughing. Certain viruses can cause cold symptoms and upset stomach but may not do that to adults. But also spread with coughs and sneezes so yours may give another kid a 'somach bug' from their plain cold/cough. I think that is what happened to us as toddler group parents had complained of theirs coughing.

Twice ive been in the bathrooms at soft play when kids have come in to be sick and once we caught it as had to walk very close (before they were sick to get by). The combiation of food and play plus the germs inside where the objects are touched by so many kids. Imo everyone needs to wash hands there before eating.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/12/2017 12:00

Don’t you sound delightful girling? As long as your kid gets to enjoy his holiday sod everyone else? I hope you’re happy when you’ve ruined other peoples’ holidays.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 17/12/2017 14:12

No kids were sick at school. I asked the teacher. We also hadn’t been anywhere as she was recovering from a cold. The only one who had left the house was the nearly four year old (and me or her dad to drop off and collect) therefore the bug came from her school. Since October our house has been ill and I blame parents sending I’m sick kids. Selfish parents, obviously.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 19/12/2017 12:46

girling is just taking the piss, surely? How horrible for her if not. Imagine being doomed to go through life being as thick as pigshit...

moreofaslummythanyummy · 19/12/2017 15:28

You are very brave OP, there is no fucking way I would get on that train Shock Such selfish people around Angry

thatcunningstunt · 19/12/2017 15:45

Really selfish of them, both on other passengers and on their child.
Surely he/she could not have enjoyed the trip anyway if he/she was that ill? Stupid parents.

itsmeofcourse · 19/12/2017 15:46

It must have been a really uncomfortable and miserable trip for the child smelling of sick and feeling poorly. Selfish

clairethewitch70 · 19/12/2017 15:47

@Bigfoot1 - hoping you havn't come down with it.

People like this make my blood boil. I have a weakened immune system, throat issues and am an emetaphob. This is my worse nightmare and why I don't like leaving this house.

girlingerrupting · 22/12/2017 11:29

We had a great holiday no one else got sick. You do all overreact a bit...

MrMeSeeks · 23/12/2017 13:51

Oh yes, because you know no one got sick Hmm

QuackPorridgeBacon · 23/12/2017 15:09

girlingerrupting Ahh Yes we are all overreacting 🙄

Was I overreacting when a child must have been brought to my elder child’s school whilst still having a bug? Maybe you think I was. However, her multiple hospital stays with dehydration and runny stools since then would beg to differ. She wasn’t near the child who got ill yet she was the first to start vomiting in our household of four. She is still dehydrated and we are having to give her smaller amounts of milk because she cannot hold it. All of this is very risky for a heart transplant child. But oh yes, we are all just overreacting Hmm
