The screaming, the whinging, the moaning!

She is literally the worst character ever created

Anna is the queen of over acting. I can't get over when the windasses first came in - they were supposed to be "Manchester's hardest family" and now they're the salt of the earth and she's been allowed to adopt! God I need to get a life!

MrsBungle · 16/12/2017 16:30

Yadnbu! This whole story line is utter shit, I am so sick of Anna's whinging, moaning, screaming, crying, lip-quivering and poor decision making that it actually makes me angry when I watch Corrie! She needs to go, shit character. Or maybe I need to stop watching given I see, to be over invested! Grin

they were supposed to be "Manchester's hardest family" and now they're the salt of the earth and she's been allowed to adopt!

And apparently there was no follow up by social services, even when Faye dropped a kid in an abandoned flat at 12 years old.

TheFirstMrsDV · 16/12/2017 16:42

Oh yes. That adoption storyline gave me the pip.
What arsington the whole thing is.
Adopts with that awful criminal husband. Birth father pops up and its all fine.

The neuroblastoma story is even worse though. That kid has a rare, aggressive and difficult to treat childhood cancer yet shows no signs of illness, treatment, trauma or anything. That makes me quite angry.

TheFirstMrsDV · 16/12/2017 16:43

Also isn't Anna supposed to have significant burns over the bottom half of her body?
Yet there she is fairly skipping about the place.

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 16/12/2017 16:52

Windass, what a name!

Mrsdraper1 · 16/12/2017 16:54

I am secretly in love with Gary, he's just so sweet!

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 16/12/2017 16:57

You’re not being unreasonable at all, I can’t stand her!

I know she’s a fictional character but God...the whinging, moaning, nosing into other people’s business...not to mention the incredibly fake/forced accent. Drives me bonkers!

And yes, I know I could just not watch Corrie but besides her and Sinead I like it!

Fairybella · 16/12/2017 16:57

Gary? In love? Are u on crack? He is a cat turd

Sallystyle · 16/12/2017 17:02

Love David.

Chesney and Sinead are so gormless it hurts.

Anna is a screech.

Love Gary.

Faye is a brat.

Hate Robert.

MrsFezziwig · 16/12/2017 17:14

Agree about the neuroblastoma - about 2 weeks of Hope looking a bit poorly then she was miraculously better. You should only use these illnesses as a storyline if you’re prepared to show them honestly, otherwise I feel it’s a bit of an insult to people who suffer with them in real life. Same with Rita’s brain tumour - as good as new after the op at her age? I don’t think so. Presume they will do the same with Robert’s testicular cancer.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 16/12/2017 17:16

@FairybellaXmas Grin

QueenNovo · 16/12/2017 17:16

Not to mention Ken's stroke, Sinead and Sophie's "life changing" injuries after their accidents and David's epilepsy. Never mentioned again once that storyline was over.

MissEliza · 16/12/2017 17:28

YANBU Corrie is awful. I don't know anyone who watches it any more but 10 or so years ago, it was must see TV. Surely its ratings are falling?

TotemIcePole · 16/12/2017 17:31

Love David and the way he calls his dm Gail!!

Xmas Grin He is good

TheFirstMrsDV · 16/12/2017 17:35

They are showing 1980s episodes on Drama every day.
I can't help but compare.
I didn't watch it much back then but the writing is amazing. Its sharp and funny with hardly any major dramaz. Despite the lack of murders etc its far more entertaining than the modern ones.

grannytomine · 16/12/2017 18:28

To be fair to her she has had a rough time. I suspect most of us would do a bit of moaning if we got stitched up for a crime we didn't commit.

ChinwagCharlieBear · 16/12/2017 18:36

I can't stand her either. It's that screechy voice, like nails on a chalk board.

I am sure she is lovely IRL Grin

ElsieMc · 16/12/2017 18:57

Watched Corrie since I was a child which makes me very old indeed. Stopped really watching around 2 years back. Just didn't like the new characters and feel it has become a bit too inclusive in a sad desperate sort of way which feels forced. So many I hate now, in fact I can only think of Mary and Maurice that I like and think are funny. Oh, also the ever nasty Tracy who you can always rely upon.

I hanker after the days of the hideous Blanche and her nasty word for everyone. Sadly missed. I wonder what she would have to say about the new characters.

My dd met Gary in real life and said he was miserable. Maybe its because he has to put up with Anna.

Terrible acting by the dreadful daughters of Sally and is Shane (or whatever he is called in the soap) a bit of a chubber now or has his head grown bigger.

violetsue · 16/12/2017 19:09

What about the way they've totally changed Tyrones character. He used to be so dopey and thick. I hate the storylines. i sometimes watch old episodes of Corrie on youtube. I can honestly say, not one character annoyed me. There weren't any kidnappings, murder, blackmail, hostages in cellars or anything else pathetic, just gentle humour with characters that were real and we actually cared about.

ElsieMc · 17/12/2017 10:14

Violetsue - Absolutely right.

Fairybella · 17/12/2017 18:52

Oh and Chesney can fuck off the brick faced idiot

Babababababybel23 · 17/12/2017 18:56

Oh god, Sinead pisses me off. Someone get phelan to bump her off before he gets caught please

monkeywithacowface · 17/12/2017 19:00

I'm always amused at how Max's sudden onset of ADHD at 9 years old has now miraculously disappeared.
