and I didn't even think about it. I just naturally had all those things in my kitchen.....

Oh my god, I'm a hipster aren't I?

Help

Do you talk about how you are from working class stock while wearing a watch chain and a tweed waistcoat?

drspouse · 14/12/2017 11:17

Mrs Brown is much more of a hippy.
Mr Brown would run screaming from a hipster and only tolerates a hippy because she's the lovely Mrs Brown.

MuseumOfCurry · 14/12/2017 11:19

cardibach inadvertently raises a good suggestion. Why don't you just go to Primark and cleanse yourself in their ritual waters of sweat?

CaptainWarbeck · 14/12/2017 11:21

Wouldn't almonds in avocado make it a bit gritty?

LemonShark · 14/12/2017 11:21

Not ground almonds, no, surprisingly! Ground almonds are more powdery.

HuskyMcClusky · 14/12/2017 12:44

My favourite way to eat avocado is mashed up with ground almonds, then spread on toast and drizzled with maple syrup. A fucking revelation.

Holy shit, I am so making this tomorrow.

(Except will have to buy maple syrup as can’t keep it in the house due to binge-eating Xmas Blush)

Clandestino · 14/12/2017 12:47

I have sourdough spelt bread, pink rock salt, avocado, kale salad and chilli sauce in multiple forms in my house. DH loves eating said avocado with chilli sauce and sourdough bread from a wooden board instead of a normal plate.
Gosh, we are doomed to hipsterdoom.

fantasmasgoria1 · 14/12/2017 12:51

I have never eaten avocado! I have two of them in my fridge but unsure about trying them for some strange reason! I also have different kinds of salt and chilli sauce! I opted for cheese on crumpets!

Cocolepew · 14/12/2017 12:58

I had digestives with butter and Quality Street.
I don't even have a kitchen table.
I feel sad now Sad

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 14/12/2017 13:10

Clandestino! Shock

The casual way you posted that suggests you're ok with your hipsterish ways. I'm afraid there is no hope for you. Sad

Janetjanetjanet · 14/12/2017 13:15

Oh my god, I'm a hipster aren't I?

^

No.
You're a wanker.

NancyJoan · 14/12/2017 13:18

Quickly, go and have a McDonalds. Not possible to do that ironically, and you should be cured.

Skowvegas · 14/12/2017 13:19

I can't believe people on here are so behind!

Unless you had a boozy shake with bean puree served with an Indian global mash-up for breakfast you're not even close to hipster atm.

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 14/12/2017 13:40

right - avocado/almond/maple syrup will be breakfast tomorrow ! sounds yum
and OP, I need this seaweed sourdough of which you speak. Where did it come from??please say waitrose

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 14/12/2017 13:40

strikethrough fail - sorry

Clandestino · 14/12/2017 14:07

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered I feel lost all of a sudden. And there I thought I was of the "so over everything" sort of a person.
Maybe there are few glimpses of hope. You wouldn't see DH dead in skinny jeans. Oh. He loves lumberjack shirts though. No beard. Just of the 3-day rough ginger stubby messy kind.
Not sure what I would need to be to be a hipster gal. Except for my love of hipstery food. Btw, does salted caramel count? Homemade?

LazySusan11 · 14/12/2017 14:35

You're not a hipster unless you strategically placed your knife and fork candles and a mug of herbal tea then took a photo with the hashtag cleaneating whatIeatinaday wellness superfood and other wanky lines Grin

Clandestino · 14/12/2017 14:37

LazySusan11

Ah, that's great. I drink herbal tea only though. But I'd never make a photos of weirdly positioned cutlery and hashtag them.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/12/2017 20:29

Sorry posie, it's something DM brought me up with. Xmas Blush

oliveinacampervan · 14/12/2017 20:31

Sounds vile.

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/12/2017 20:38

Was that to me or the OP?

Shockers · 17/12/2017 14:47

Other than the seaweed sourdough (I have plain sourdough), that’s pretty much my standard breakfast, except I have cayenne pepper instead of chilli sauce.

I couldn’t be arsed wearing a cap, but I do have something of a beard, as was pointed out by a child in my class, as he stroked it lovingly.

My table is second hand, but also has felt tip marks and ingrained glitter.

I don’t think either of us are hipsters, OP, I think we just like nice breakfasts.

On a slightly related note, I had seaweed gin with Mediterranean tonic last night. It was lovely- like an afternoon on a beach...
