I am watching Nigella's Christmas Table Angry

Stars are MY thing - I have star shaped bowls, starry patterned China, I make food into star shapes, I have star patterned furnishings. I have owned a starry scarf for YEARS!

My entire Christmas decor is star themed. How dare she steal my idea.

I OWN STARS! Angry

I now want the Primark scarf

Scabbersley · 12/12/2017 20:31

It cost £2. I wore it every day for weeks. Then I left it on a train SadSad

ssd · 12/12/2017 20:35

maybe nigella found it

Scabbersley · 12/12/2017 20:36

Yeah, I bet she did. Bitch.

JustCallMeJanet · 12/12/2017 22:03

@scabbersley sorry for your loss, I love my primark starry scarf, would hate to lose it

Message to Nigella, the bluetits in my garden say they own nigella seeds so clear off you hussy smirking at lights and all that.

Tartyflette · 13/12/2017 01:20

I want the dressing gown, so swishy and silky. but the little shop she got it from has sold out Sad
Also, wouldn't mind the white china mixing bowls with a pouring lip. Can't find anything like them anywhere, only a set of Alessi ones in multi-colored plastic. Noooo.
Off to google starry scarf.

herecomesthsun · 13/12/2017 05:54

Am I the only one who didn't like the food? I do like devilled eggs, but life is too short to pipe them.

Red cabbage and sprouts together is too samey, I don't like red cabbage and a casserole of sprouts, really?

Adding a huge handful of salt is a bad idea, better to add in small quantities and taste frequently.

Poatoes cooked in the duck fat would have been nicer than mash.

Ice cream with salt and alcohol in might not set very well. And I would find something else for toddlers.

Also. sticky toffee pudding AND caramel ice cream too samey.

I winced at the scraping of metal on metal - loved the copper food aid though. And no that didn't look the best way to pulverise the egg filling, that looked liable to splodge all over the floor.

Very Christmassy and twinkly though Wine

Housewife2010 · 13/12/2017 06:40

She has the fixed smile all the time.( When I'm cooking I've had my husband ask why I'm not permanently smiling like Nigellas?) I loved a lot of the red clothes she was wearing (she usually wears too much black) but I thought the camel top was so dull. She looks stunning in red.

Taffeta · 13/12/2017 08:03

herecomes - you’re right, the food was a bit shit. I feel like that all the time now with Nigella, and can’t decide whether it’s me that’s moved on, or her recipes just not cutting it any more.

I have lots of her books and still use some of the recipes, but the last few series I’ve struggled to find anything I’d want to make.

soupforbrains · 13/12/2017 08:22

I just love her. I do wonder if the earlier serious years were when she was a bit more miserable with saatchi?

when I grow up I'm going to BE her

badbadhusky · 13/12/2017 08:34

Just popping in to say that star-shaped serving dishes annoy the hell out of me and you are welcome to them. If you must use them, please provide a pointy stick so your guests can winkle the trapped food out of the pointy bits, chimpanzee-style.

Sparkletastic · 13/12/2017 08:44

Well I've been bejewelling things with pomegranate seeds since you lot were in Boden Mini. I shall TM it and charge Nige for every utterance. Will have a tidy retirement fund within 2 episodes I'll wager.

Taffeta · 13/12/2017 08:50

Her earlier serious years were when she was with John Diamond. Sad

Her telly stuff was awesome back then. But I suppose part of the reason for it being awesome was because it was so new, the relaxed way if cooking, the lifestyle thang etc, which is now old hat.

Scabbersley · 13/12/2017 09:53

How to eat is brilliant. Occasionally use feast, but don't like any others

Zevitevitchofcrimas · 13/12/2017 10:29

housewife really?! Grin that's hilarious. Why don't you practise it whole nigella act for him whilst you massage your duck...

Zevitevitchofcrimas · 13/12/2017 10:30

Mind you if u had her money and that kitchen I would be smiling too

Aki99 · 13/12/2017 13:45

My cousin would fight you for any star owning title - she had tattoos of stars done for her wedding to match her wedding dress (the stars carried on)

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 13/12/2017 14:15

ha!

"Art is not my thing" Well played, Nigella.

mousemoose · 13/12/2017 14:39

I'm just sashaying through, darlings, to say I just purchased a star-laden cashmere sweater (er - at M&S STYLE ALERT) and so I'm terribly sorry but I'm afraid I NOW OWN STARS. And cashmere. Sozzles, mwah, etc.

God I haven't seen any of this show but l LOVES HER just for actually being a pretty bad ass who has been through a lot of shit in her life and still keeps on trucking. Plus her How to Eat is just brilliant. Even the assumptions it makes, like how ideal things would be for that spring luncheon you're making for ten close pals in your Georgian country-rectory orangery... A different posh world before what she now has which is more of a blingy just-completely-loaded world. Good for her.

NB I still now own stars, thanks so, so much,

Scabbersley · 13/12/2017 15:36

I have leather gloves with silver stars on.

I WIN THE STARS

FrLukeDuke · 13/12/2017 16:47

I didn't spot the scarf on the programme but i looked in primark today and didn't see any navy scarves with gold stars on. They do change their stock very regularly so they probably don't sell them any more.

Scabbersley · 13/12/2017 17:58

No they don't. They had them end of September.

JustCallMeJanet · 14/12/2017 07:55

That's the one - I was wrong about the stars being all the same size. Perhaps nigella did get hers from primark.
