Who's got snow today?

And if so,how much? I admit I'm like a big kid with regards to snow, despite being 54 years old and having a disability which limits my mobility. I had no idea snow was expected in the west London area today,so had a big surprise when I wandered into the kitchen at 8am this morning to feed the cat and saw snow on the roofs of the houses opposite. It's not a massive amount admittedly, only an inch or so. On the weather forecast late last night,it said snow was expected in northern parts of England and the south west,no mention of the south east. So I was mightily surprised. I just love the way a layer of snow transforms the usual dull landscape around where I live.

A couple of feet over the last few weeks. But I am in Northern Canada!

Kursk · 11/12/2017 01:22

Mid Maine USA here we had 6” yesterday, another 6” due Tuesday.

On average we get 5’ of snow during a typical winter

Love Northern Canada, where abouts are you?

The trouble we have is that we don't have snow like this every year my youngest is 8 and the last time we had this much snow was 7 years ago, so we don't have the equipment to deal with it.

The main motor ways will be snow ploughed/gritted and some of the bigger main roads. In the (quite) large town I live in only the bus routes will be gritted/salted. The foot paths and side roads will not cleared unless the home owners have done it.

We drove through the midlands yesterday (had to get back home for work today). Parts of the M40 were pretty icy inspite of snow ploughs and gritters being on the roads too. By far the worst were the service station car parks which were sheet ice. Lots of stuck cars and lorries. It was very very pretty though!

Bedfordshire here as well. Plenty of snow yesterday but now it's raining so will be icy.

It was so lovely seeing the snow yesterday as we rarely get it and even rarer does it settle.
